🔥 CORE PRECAUTIONS FOR RIDING IN VERY HOT WEATHER

Riding in extreme heat is its own endurance sport, and the risks creep up faster than most riders realise. A solid heat‑management plan keeps you sharp, safe, and able to enjoy the ride rather than just survive it. Whether you're travelling across the country or heading out for a few hours, these points are worth considering.

💧 HYDRATION & ELECTROLYTES
Drink small amounts often rather than chugging at stops. Add electrolytes to at least one bottle per day to replace salts lost through sweat. Avoid energy drinks as they dehydrate and spike your heart rate.

🧤 CLOTHING & GEAR
Wear full gear such as mesh or well‑vented textiles — bare skin cooks in the wind and dehydrates you faster. A hydration vest or soaked neck tube can make a huge difference, especially in dry heat. Light colours help reduce radiant heat absorption.

🏍️ BIKE SETUP & RIDING STRATEGY
Plan fuel and rest stops more frequently than usual. Avoid long idle times because engine heat can drain you quickly. Riding earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon helps you avoid the peak heat window.

🧠 BODY AWARENESS
Watch for early signs of heat stress such as headache, irritability, dizziness, slowed thinking, or nausea. If you stop sweating, feel chilled, or become confused, that’s a red‑flag moment — get into shade and cool down immediately. Don’t push through “just one more hour”; heat exhaustion sneaks up quietly.

❄️ COOLING TECHNIQUES AT STOPS
Get off the bike and out of the sun whenever you stop. Wet your sleeves, neck tube, or base layer to take advantage of evaporative cooling. Keep your helmet in the shade so you’re not putting a scorching shell back on your head.

🗺️ ROUTE & ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING
Choose roads with good airflow — open country roads instead of stop‑start traffic. Know where water, shade, and towns are along your route. If you’re riding with a group, set expectations early: more breaks, a slower pace, and no heroics.

🌍 Women Riders World Relay (WRWR) 🌍

A global movement uniting women on two wheels.
In 2019, WRWR made history by bringing together more than 20,000 women from over 100 countries to complete the world’s largest motorcycle relay. It wasn’t just a record-breaking ride—it shifted industry perceptions and created life‑changing connections for women riders everywhere.
Since then, WRWR has continued to evolve. True to its baton‑passing legacy, the movement is expanding its mission and shaking up the motorcycling world once again.
WRWR’s goal is bold and clear: to connect every woman rider in the world.
To help make that possible, the organisation has launched the WRWR App—a dedicated platform designed to connect women riders globally, inspire growth through riding challenges, and amplify the visibility of women in motorcycling.
This isn’t just an app. It’s a global connector, celebrating women riders one virtual baton pass at a time.
Women across the world are joining the movement and adding their voices to this monumental challenge.
If you’re a woman who rides—or you support those who do—this is an opportunity to stand with a worldwide community and help show the world that women riders are here, strong, and united.

Connect. Challenge. Change.

CONNECT EVERY WOMAN RIDER IN THE WORLD. Help us achieve our monumental goal of counting and connecting every woman motorcyclist in the world.

🎄 WHAT A MASSIVE SUCCESS! 🎄
Our Christmas Ride was an unforgettable day — flawlessly organised, bursting with festive spirit, and fuelled by an incredible community that shows up every single time.

❤️🐾 SUPPORTING SAFE PETS SAFE FAMILIES
This year, we set out to make a real difference — and we delivered.
Our community rallied behind a purpose built raffle, raising an outstanding $1400 to support Safe Pets Safe Families.
This is our biggest fundraising achievement yet, and every dollar will help keep vulnerable people and their pets safe, supported, and together.

🙌 THANK YOU TO OUR SUPPORTERS
Our Christmas Ride wouldn’t have been the same without the incredible businesses who generously donated prizes to our raffle. Your support helps us strengthen our community and make a real impact for Safe Pets Safe Families.
A heartfelt thank you to:
- Yamaha World
- Gawler Motorcycle Centre
- AMX Superstore
- Peak Moto
- Mind Set Road User Education
- WomenWheels Workshops
Your generosity keeps our wheels turning and our community thriving.

🏍️ THE RIDE
We kicked off from Newton heading north via Gorge Road with a lead rider, ride support, a sweep, and a support vehicle keeping everything running smoothly.
The route took us to Kersbrook, then on to Lyndoch and Kapunda — complete with quiet back roads, scenic winery views and stopping to view the newly unveiled Kapunda silo art.
Lunch at the fabulous Hamley Bridge Hotel set the stage for the Women2Wheels raffle draw, and a surprise appearance from Santarette, whose wonderfully terrible Christmas jokes had everyone laughing.
The Santa Swap gift stealing game was a crowd favourite, full of fun, surprises, and thoughtful gifts. After lunch, riders headed off in all directions, carrying the good vibes of a fantastic day.

🌟 SPECIAL SHOUT OUT
A huge thank you to our volunteers who made the ride and raffle possible. Their attention to detail and behind the scenes effort was exceptional.

😋 FOODIE PLUG
If you want a good meal, head out to the Hamley Bridge Hotel, Hamley Bridge.

What a day. What a team. What a community.
Here’s to more rides, more laughs, and more ways to support those who need it most. ❤️🏍️
