Where and when are your events?
- Our events are 3 hours long and happen every 2nd week! Events are hosted at the community room at the Hyde St practice for ShineSA. There is a toilet available if you wish to change into more affirming clothing and may feel more comfortable as this is a transfemme only space. Both the space and the toilet are wheelchair accessible, please just send a facebook message via the page if wheelchair access to the building is required. What are your events typically like?
- The events are usually a mix of structured activities and free time where people usually chat. You may abstain from any activities if you feel more comfortable doing so and nothing is mandatory. We also have another side room available to be used as a quiet space if anything becomes too overwhelming for people or if anyone needs just to collect their thoughts, and we never judge people for using it. There is tap water available and usually some snacks, however do not come expecting a meal.

Hey everyone,

For this year's Trans Day of Remembrance, we are collaborating with SARAA and TransmascSA to hold a vigil to solemnly remember and reflect the lives of those who blazed trails before us, and to to those whom we owe a great debt of gratitude.

Consider donating through the link, if you can, according to your means https://giveoutday.org.au/o/trans-day-of-remembrance-vigil . Every dollar counts!

Please also share this among your networks so that it may reach allies and accomplices.

You may have heard about PrEP which helps prevent HIV transmission alongside other prevention methods. While condoms remain a tried and tested way of preventing STIs, Doxy-PEP may now also be able to assist in reducing STI transmissions which is great news!

SAMESH is holding a free Doxy PEP Community Forum on 26th August so you can learn about Doxy PEP's benefits including reduction of STI spread, syphilis & chlamydia infection prevention, added protection alongside condoms and STI testing, and more.

Hear from doctors, epidemiologists and local community members in a panel discussion on why Doxy PEP is important, and how it should be taken correctly, while also having any questions from community members answered.
