As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the amazing volunteers at the German Club.

Your time, dedication, and hard work help make our club such a welcoming and vibrant community. From organising events, helping in the kitchen and bar, maintaining the clubrooms, supporting cultural activities, and lending a hand wherever needed your efforts never go unnoticed.

Our club simply would not be the same without the passion and generosity of our volunteers. Thank you for everything you do to keep our traditions, community spirit, and club thriving.

Danke schön to each and every one of you who contribute to the success of our club! 🇩🇪❤️

Oh what a night!! The best time ever & unforgettable memories at Maifest/‘Oktoberfest in May’ this year - we can’t wait until the next one! We will keep adding photos to this post as they come in. Prost! 🎉🇩🇪

Many thanks to our sponsors, Hofbrau Beer Australia, Bunnings Adelaide Airport, the Department for Multicultural Affairs, the RAA, our incredible team of 64 volunteers, over 40 musicians, dancers & alpine bellringers, and special guests and visitors who made our Maifest an absolute joy to behold. It’s impossible to explain in words how fun this event was for everyone who attended and we could not have done it without you.

There are too many of you to mention individually as you ALL played an important role but we’d like to give a special shout out to the following people: Mark Rosenzweig for building us the most stunning Glühwein & Schnaps bar we could ever have dreamt of, Grant for playing his alpine horn - not the easiest instrument to get around with 😆 - Elke S for leading a beautiful maypole dance & “the other chicken dance” for our guests to join in on, Arno for his amazing cooking, Elke B-K for her beautiful menu designs, Lucilla (and Luca!) for fixing our ongoing tech problems and keeping the sound going, Emily for jumping in last minute to help with Kinderecke, and Dieter and Mark R again, for trying to fix our dinosaur-era toilets which unfortunately malfunctioned spectacularly during the event 😱 And then there’s the special “4+ Club”, club members who gave 4+ days of their time for event set up, food prep and/or cleanup. To Debbie, Christine, Trevor B, Kingsley C, Mark R, Trevor 2 & Harald: Your community spirit is truly humbling! We are so fortunate to have such an amazing club community.
