Take control before addiction takes control of you. Every cigarette refused is a victory earned, every choice toward health is a step toward freedom. Crush the craving, protect your future, and choose a life that breathes stronger, lives longer, and inspires others to do the same. Addiction does not define us, courage, awareness, and action do.

Drugs and substance abuse don’t just harm the body, they blur judgment, silence boundaries, and create spaces where sexual harassment thrives.

We’re talking about this connection because a drug-free life is also a life of respect, consent, and safety. Let’s break the cycle. Let’s protect each other.

The launch of Zimbabwe’s Anti-Sexual Harassment Policy by the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education marks a powerful milestone in protecting students and staff across campuses. This initiative is designed to create safer learning environments, promote accountability, and empower young people to speak out against harassment.

We are honored to have been invited to the Chinhoyi University of Technology Drug and Substance Abuse Awareness Campaign, themed: No to Sexual Harassment, YES to Life.

This campaign comes at a critical time, empowering students to understand the reporting channels and know exactly who to turn to when faced with sexual harassment. Awareness is the first step toward protection, and protection is the foundation of dignity and safety.

Drug and substance abuse cannot be separated from this issue. Too often, cases of sexual harassment occur when individuals are intoxicated, leaving them vulnerable or impairing judgment. By saying No to Drugs and No to Sexual Harassment, we are boldly saying Yes to Life.

This campaign is more than an event—it is a call to action. It reminds us that every student deserves a safe environment, free from intimidation, exploitation, or harm. Together, we must champion respect, uphold accountability, and protect the future of our communities.

Law enforcement plays a critical role in disrupting the supply of drugs, as reflected in these recent arrests. However, ending drug and substance abuse requires more than enforcement alone. It calls for sustained investment in harm reduction, evidence-based treatment, and community support systems that address the underlying drivers of substance use.

As we advance the Multisectoral Drug Master Plan, there is a need to prioritise prevention, access to care, and youth-friendly services, ensuring that no one is left behind.

A balanced, people-centred approach is key—not only to reducing harm, but to saving lives, restoring dignity, and building safer, more resilient communities.

Thank you to Zimpapers TV Network for creating a platform that keeps young people engaged in issues that affect them. Over the weekend, our UZ LCC Chairperson, Munashe Siraha, featured on the Campus Reflections Show on ZTN Prime, hosted by Latwell Nyangu. The discussion focused on “What’s in a college love relationship?”

There is something undeniably special about relationships that begin on a college campus. It is a time of self-discovery, where young people are learning about the world, finding their identity, and often feeling vulnerable. In the process, you meet someone who walks alongside you as you navigate your journey, shaping experiences and growth together.

College life also brings exposure to diverse personalities and backgrounds, making it important to take time to understand people beyond first impressions.

However, it is also important to acknowledge the darker side. In recent times, some students have tragically lost their lives due to conflicts arising from love triangles and unhealthy relationships on campus. This raises an important question: are campus relationships truly healthy, or do they require more awareness and responsibility?

A BIG thank you to Bindura University of Science Education for the opportunity to connect at yesterday’s Health Expo!

We had an incredible time engaging with students, healthcare providers, and community partners doing what we do best: promoting a healthier future for young people.

From sharing accurate, youth-friendly SRH information, to the distribution of SRH commodities, and raising awareness about our 24/7 toll-free Call Centre (577) the energy at our stander was amazing! ✨

But let’s keep the conversation going…
What is one interesting thing you’ve learnt from the SAYWHAT ?

Have you heard about 577? What do you know about it?

Can you identify the SAYWHAT team in the pictures? MBIRI YAVO NDEYEI😁

Drop your answers in the comments and share knowledge with someone who hasn’t engaged with SAYWHAT yet! Because when young people are informed, connected, and supported, we ALL move forward.
