ZIMURA recently met with the Permanent Secretary of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services Mr Nick Mangwana to resolve the persistent non-payment of music royalties by several local radio and television stations.

Uncollected legacy debts from broadcasters have left ZIMURA unable to distribute fair earnings to both Zimbabwean artists and international composers.

The government pledged its support in recovering these funds, recognizing that ignoring copyright obligations damages the country's standing on global IP platforms.

Music is the backbone of radio content.

We urge all broadcasting institutions to pay their licensing fees so artists can be compensated for their work and continue producing quality music.
