Bantwana Zimbabwe is excited to be at the MenEngage Africa Symposium 2026 in Mombasa. Besides learning, we are also showcasing our work through the poster presentation ‘From Bystanders to Allies,’ demonstrating how engaging young men in tertiary institutions transforms SRH ecosystems. With over 468 male students trained, 1,000+ reached through sports outreach, and 500+ accessing services, the model proves that young men can be powerful allies in advancing reproductive justice.

Bantwana Zimbabwe is implementing the HeyGirl project supported by TDH Swiss to empower young women in tertiary institutions with the necessary knowledge, resources, and services to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health.

13 days after the 26th International AIDS Conference, one message is clear: progress in protecting vulnerable children from HIV is at risk of reversal.
According to UNAIDS's new "United to End AIDS" report:

- Nearly half of all children living with HIV did not have access to antiretroviral treatment in 2025.
- Funding cuts are actively reversing hard-won gains.
- Medicine alone isn't enough: the social and structural factors behind children's poor health outcomes need urgent attention
Holistic, HIV-sensitive case management for the protection and welfare of children is the way forward.

In a boardroom, at an exhibition, in class, at home, in parliament, through a donation, a thought...on this day of heroes, we also celebrate the heroes pushing child protection in all corners of Zimbabwe. The sacrifice of the forefathers for a Zimbabwe that protects its children should never be in vain.

A grim reminder of what awaits our children each time we take child protection for granted. This holiday season, let us ALL remain vigilant and ensure that our children are protected. Abuse might not be that far off. Let us keep our eyes open and create a safe environment for all children.

Bantwana Zimbabwe team had interesting discussions with a team from Gilead Sciences. Did you know that Gilead Sciences is a bio pharmaceutical company that leads in developing medicines for life threatening diseases. They are leaders in HIV treatment and prevention, with a portfolio of antiretroviral therapies that have transformed HIV care worldwide! We look forward to more fruitful deliberations as we inch towards ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030!
