Calling all artists! 🎨

World Relief Triad is in need of some new swag, and we’d love YOUR help in designing it! For the next two weeks, we’ll collect designs (submission deadline: 9/15/2026), and then the week of September 21, we’ll put it to a vote. The winner will receive a free tshirt printed with their design, and it will be printed for World Relief Triad supporters to purchase. 👕

Please submit your design as a high-resolution, print-ready file (300 DPI minimum, actual print size). We prefer vector PDFs, .EPS, or .AI files. Entries with lower-resolution web graphics or screenshots will not be considered.

Email your design to [email protected] with subject line “Tshirt contest”

World Relief interns have the opportunity to play a meaningful role in our clients’ resettlement journey. As intern-turned-staff member Osliany puts it, “as an Immigration Legal Service Intern, I had the privilege of supporting clients throughout every step of their immigration journey. The most rewarding moment was notifying a client that their case had been approved. After month or even years of uncertainty, hearing their relief, joy and gratitude was incredibly meaningful. These experiences showed me that immigration law is more than legal processes, but it’s about helping people achieve their dreams, reuniting with their loved ones and building a brighter future.”

We love having interns join us in our work! If you are a student who would like to learn more about interning at our Winston-Salem office this fall or next spring, reach out to [email protected]

Imagine bringing all the required documentation to the DMV, only to be told repeatedly that you still do not have what is needed to obtain or renew your driver's license. Unfortunately, this is the reality some refugees and Lawful Permanent Residents (LPRs) in North Carolina are facing.

According to the ACLU of North Carolina, “the DMV is denying regular, full-term driver’s licenses to LPRs and refugees in a manner inconsistent with the documentation and eligibility standards set forth in North Carolina law and the DMV’s own policies.”

We have seen this issue firsthand through clients in our own office who possess valid documentation yet have been denied driver's license renewals. These denials can create significant barriers to employment, education, healthcare access, and daily life.

Learn more about this issue here: https://www.acluofnorthcarolina.org/press-releases/nc-dmv-unlawfully-refuses-to-issue-updated-drivers-licenses-to-lawful-permanent-residents-and-refugees/

We also encourage you to advocate for refugees and Lawful Permanent Residents in our community by raising this concern with your local, state, and federal elected representatives. Together, we can help ensure that eligible residents are treated fairly and in accordance with the law. Find your rep's phone number below:

Definitions are important in advocacy efforts. Take a moment today to familiarize yourself with what might give someone refugee status, and then pray for those who have had to leave their homes due to persecution. Thank you for standing with our neighbors who have been displaced!
