Is your childcare center ready to become an NC Pre-K site? Smart Start of Forsyth County is hosting a Site Interest Meeting for the 2027-2029 cycle on Thursday, September 17th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Reynolda Manor Branch Library, 2839 Fairlawn Dr in Winston-Salem. If your program holds a 4 or 5 star rating and you are able to serve eligible 4 year olds in a classroom setting, this meeting will walk you through what the NC Pre-K partnership means for your center, your staff, and the families you serve.

This past Monday, we hosted our very first Investing in Forsyth: A Smart Start Luncheon at the Winston-Salem Foundation, and the room was full of exactly the kind of energy we hoped for. 💛

57 guests joined us, including elected officials, board members, and 34 brand-new faces who are just learning about our work for the first time. Staff from across every SSFC department showed up to welcome guests, run registration, manage tech, and make sure the day felt warm and personal from start to finish.

This luncheon was never just about one afternoon. It was about introducing new friends to the work we do every day for children and families across Forsyth County, and laying the groundwork for what's ahead. We're already looking forward to building on this momentum with future gatherings.
