Nicaragua - Final

It was a joy to finish the final TTPI Workbook with the group of pastors meeting in Casa Blanca, Nicaragua. This “mixed” group of Baptist and Pentecostal pastors had this in common: a love for Christ and His Word. Though their denominational backgrounds brought many differing distinctives to the study, their hunger for the Word and their openness to its teachings were alike. We were all eager to learn and be taught by Christ.

The graduation on Saturday was quite an experience of “pomp and circumstance.” Most of the pastor’s wives joined us for the ceremony, as well as other family members. There was no difficulty in seeing the great pride family members had in their graduating pastor-fathers and husbands.
These graduates have been and will continue to teach their churches the lessons we have studied in the TTPI Workbooks.

Thursday evening I was privileged to teach a marriage seminar to couples from several churches. Among the important basics of biblical marriage we discussed were the GOODNESS of God’s design and plan for marriage; how marriage is a PICTURE of Christ and the Church and how the husband and wife are to picture that relationship in their marriage; the important distinction of PERMANENT vs TEMPORARY in relationships in marriage; and the critical NEED of CHRIST for a godly marriage. Weighty but wonderful truths, to be sure.

This group of pastors is already asking for more teaching for other pastors as well as leaders in their churches…and this is a common response at the TTPI graduations. Please PRAY for the Lord to answer this desire!

*Please pray for the Lord’s help since we will travel far in Uganda after we arrive.  Traveling in Africa presents many challenges for us-- extremely bad roads, safety, wear and tear on our bodies, and expensive gas prices.
