Where can your UNCW experience take you? For Madeline Poulis ’26, all the way to France.

After studying abroad in Toulouse, Madeline knew she wanted to return to France. Today, she’s living in Amiens and serving as a teaching assistant through the Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF).

At UNCW, Madeline studied international business, minored in French, studied abroad and worked as a French tutor. Those experiences helped prepare her for this next chapter.

Parker Silver ’26 has always been behind the camera. Now, he’s putting those skills to work behind the scenes at Disney!

Parker is a Video Production Intern with Disney Destinations, where he helps create content that brings Disney vacation experiences to life around the world. But his path to Disney started at UNCW, where he turned his passion for video into all kinds of creative projects. From directing TealTV and working in live broadcast at WWAY to creating documentaries, music projects and award-winning productions, Parker found plenty of opportunities to grow as a storyteller and creator.

From Seahawk student to robotics team leader.

Temo Meza ’24M is helping lead the team behind one of UNCW’s newest additions — a humanoid robot being used by students in the College of Science and Engineering to explore robotics, artificial intelligence and human-robot interaction.

After working with faculty on robotics research during his master’s program, Temo is now helping current Seahawks learn how to program the robot, develop custom gestures and explore how this emerging technology could be used in fields like healthcare and industry.

See how Temo and the next generation of Seahawk engineers are helping shape the future of robotics at UNCW.

UNCW is one of the few NC institutions to house a humanoid robot.

Christian Cole ’26 recently graduated from UNCW and turned his passion for technology into a career in IT!

During his time at UNCW, Christian earned his CCNA certification, served as director for the Information Systems Association, and was named UNCW’s Outstanding IT Graduate.

Now, he’s putting those skills to work as a Simulation Technician supporting military training systems.

In the latest Hawk’s Eye View, Christian reflects on the path that led him to his career and the importance of getting hands-on experience along the way.

Fall looks good in teal.

There’s something about this season that takes us right back to the Dub — cooler walks across campus, cheering on the Seahawks, time spent with friends and those familiar places that still feel a little like home.

While we love looking back, there’s plenty to look forward to, too.

This fall brings more opportunities to gather with fellow Seahawks, learn something new, cheer on the Dub, make a difference for today’s students and celebrate all the places life continues to take our alumni.

New memories. Favorite traditions. Plenty more to come.

For Maddie Bowen ’19, building a business is about more than what happens inside its doors. It’s about showing up for the community around it.

As the owner of Lions Roar Brewing Co. in Westfield, New Jersey, Maddie has created a gathering place that supports local musicians, makers, restaurants and nonprofits. The lessons she learned at UNCW, from balancing leadership roles to pursuing business and environmental studies, continue to shape how she leads today.
