Have you ever been to the Wise Alumni House?

Now is your chance! Join us for not one, but two special events next weekend at one of Wilmington's historic landmarks.

Built in 1909 and designed by renowned architect Burett H. Stevens, the Wise Alumni House has been a cornerstone of Wilmington's historic mansion district for more than a century. Home to philanthropist Jessie Kenan Wise until her passing in 1968, the house was later deeded to UNCW.

After being closed for renovations, we're excited to welcome alumni back to the Wise Alumni House for our first alumni events in this historic space:

Weekend in Wilmington Seahawk Summer Social — Friday, June 12 | 7p.m.
Distinguished Awards Reception — Saturday, June 13 | 6 p.m.

From UNCW swimmer to international changemaker, Casey Quimby ’06 has built a life far from where she started, but deeply rooted in purpose.

After graduating from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, she set out on a journey that took her through New Zealand and eventually to Fiji, where she now helps lead Animals Fiji, a nonprofit focused on expanding access to veterinary care and improving animal welfare across the region.

Her path reflects how travel, opportunity, and purpose can come together to shape a life far beyond what was originally planned.

Casey Quimby ’06 is helping to transform animal care in the Pacific Islands.

UNCW alumna Kerri Allen ’11 ’13M is making waves for North Carolina’s coast 🌊

From leading statewide conservation initiatives to advocating for clean water and coastal protection, Allen’s work is shaping the future of our waterways and communities. Now, she’s been named UNCW’s Distinguished Citizen of the Year.
