Annual Nurses Scholarship guest speaker was Tonya Jackson , the executive director of the Black Nurses Association, a wonderful speaker and advocate for the Nursing profession, she was very inspirational to our young nurses.

Forty and Eight Voiture NC 245

On Thursday, March 26th, six members of the Americanism Committee from 40&8 Voiture Locale 245 Wilmington, NC, visited Virginia Williamson Elementary School in Bolivia, NC. Their arrival was met with enthusiasm from Mr. Joshua Futrell, the school principal, as well as the first-grade teachers, additional faculty, and nearly 100 energetic first graders.
The 40&8 Flags for First Graders program has proven to be quite popular among the Voyageurs who lead this educational initiative. The program focuses on teaching flag history, respect, protocol, and etiquette. During the visit, both the students and school staff learned the meaning behind each fold of America’s National symbol.
The presenters were continually impressed by the knowledge and patriotic spirit exhibited by the young students. At the conclusion of the event, everyone in attendance received a small flag to commemorate the day’s experience.

40&8, Nursing “Feelin’ Groovy”

Members and friends of 40&8 Voiture, Locale 245 recently attended Jim Witter’s, Simon & Garfunkel Tribute show at Brunswick Community College’s (BCC) Odell Williamson Auditorium (OWA).
They were delighted to be welcomed by Zoe Elliott, the recipient of a 40&8 BCC Nurses Training Scholarship. They also wish to extend their sincere thanks to Danielle Graves OWA Director, Lisa Milligan Box Office Mgr., and Teresa Nelson BCC Foundation Director. The continued support from BCC and OWA staff was instrumental in making this endeavor a success.
It was a wonderful event, and everyone truly enjoyed the performance.
