From a fun evening with fellow Rotarians to meaningful conversations with local leaders, it’s been an engaging few weeks.
On Thursday, May 28, about 25 Rotarians from Area 10 gathered at
Wilma's for duckpin bowling and time together outside of our regular meetings. We enjoyed being with Rotary Club of Wilmington, Brandywine-Naamans Rotary Club, and Brandywine Hundred Rotary Club for a wonderful evening.
We were also pleased to welcome Scott Malfitano, Vice President at
CSC and Chair of the Delaware Workforce Development Board. He spoke about CSC Station and its work to create the Delaware Co-op, sparking thoughtful conversation about partnerships, career pathways, and opportunities for Delaware’s future talent.
Yesterday, we welcomed Dr. Joe Jones, Superintendent of New Castle County Vocational Technical School District (NCCVT), for an excellent presentation on how NCCVT is helping students “learn, earn, and get ahead.” Dr. Jones highlighted NCCVT’s 4,902 students across Delcastle, Hodgson, Howard, and St. George's Technical High School, plus more than 2,000 adult education participants. He also shared the district’s four pillars: a high school diploma, a credential of value, co-op experience, and dual enrollment.
Thank you to our recent guests, speakers, and fellow Rotarians for making these gatherings meaningful, informative, and fun.
