Hellenic University Club of Wilmington The Hellenic University Club of Wilmington is a non-profit promoting Hellenism Other scholarships have been created to send collegians to study in Greece.

Founded in 1965, the Hellenic University Club (HUC) of Wilmington is a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to understand, celebrate, and promote Hellenic culture and values. As learning is integral to these ideals, the Club offers varied educational programs focused on Hellenism for its members and the surrounding community. The purpose of the Club is to provide merit scholarships for un

dergraduate and graduate education to individuals of Greek descent who live in the vicinity of Wilmington, Delaware. Certain scholarships are available to matriculating high school students who will be embarking on their collegiate studies. The Club is a nonprofit organization organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c) (3) of the Code.

Dr. Arthur Trembanis joined Hellenic University Club of Wilmington for am interesting discussion about the progress of underwater archaeology, particularly its automation. We heard about his exciting expeditions to the Aegean, the Black Sea, and how ancient amphorae and traces of civilization were discovered, mapped, recorded, and, working together with local cultural ephorates, protected and restored. His latest project focuses on Kenchriae, an ancient port in the Saronic Gulf near Corinth, a project he is working in tandem with the American School of Classical Studies and the Ministry of Culture in Greece.
