First Tee – Delaware is proud to announce that
participant Sarah Lester-Stranick, a senior at Sussex Academy High School, has been named a recipient of the prestigious ShopRite LPGA Powered by Wakefern First Tee
Scholarship, earning a $5,000 award.

As part of the scholarship experience, Sarah and a chaperone were guests of the ShopRite LPGA Classic at Seaview Hotel and Golf Club in Galloway, New Jersey. They all had a full two-day itinerary. The experience culminated with the Trophy Ceremony and Award Presentation at the ShopRite Pavilion, honoring both the tournament's golfers and the scholarship recipients.

Sarah was also photographed with ShopRite Classic champion Celine Boutier, Wakefern President Mike Stigers and Renee Stigers, and Wakefern Chief Sales Officer Darren Caudill, alongside fellow First Tee scholarship recipients from across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast region.

Sarah's mother, Stephanie Stranick, reflected on the significance of the experience: "It was such a meaningful experience for her to spend time with fellow scholarship awardees from across the region and be part of such a special event. Your encouragement helped open this door for her, and it is an experience she will not forget." Stephanie added that First Tee – Delaware's support has been transformative for Sarah not just as a golfer, but as a young leader, coach, and advocate for expanding opportunities for girls in the game.

Get Ready - Summer 1 Sessions Start This Coming Week!

The First Tee – Delaware family is gearing up for an incredible summer on the course, and your child is part of it! Keep an eye on your inbox for your welcome email with session details and next steps.

PLEASE NOTE:
We have just added a Boys Golf Class on Thursdays at DuPont Country Club. Registration is still available for Summer 1 and Summer 2 Sessions. Male participants must be 12 years of age or older with prior First Tee experience. Having their own clubs is preferable.

Earlier this week, we shared that coaches come in many forms — and at First Tee – Delaware, some of our most impactful coaches are our Junior Coaches. ⛳️

Our Junior Coach program helps teens stay connected, build confidence, develop responsibility, and become mentors for the next generation of participants. They lead by example every day, showing perseverance, leadership, and heart both on and off the course.

Today, we’re proud to celebrate Junior Coach Joseph Kelly, a junior in high school, on an incredible accomplishment — winning the 2026 Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) Boys Individual Golf Championship! 🏆

To make the moment even more special, Joseph’s team at Salesianum also captured the 2026 DIAA Team Championship title. 👏

Joseph brings true grit, commitment, and positivity to our classes at Rock Manor, and our younger participants connect with him in such a meaningful way. He’s proof that leadership isn’t just about performance — it’s about inspiring others through your actions.
