💚❤️🖤 What a powerful weekend at the Walnut Street YMCA!

This weekend was all about honoring our fathers and celebrating freedom, culture, and community.

On Friday, we kicked things off by showing appreciation for our amazing dads with our “Doggone Dads” celebration. Fathers stopped by to enjoy hot dogs, chips, and special photo opportunities with their children, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Then on Saturday, we proudly hosted our 6th Annual Juneteenth Block Party! With more than 350 attendees, over 100 community members enjoying the pool, incredible vendors, entertainment, food, and family fun, the day was a true reflection of what makes our community so special.

We are honored to celebrate the significance of Juneteenth—a day that reminds us of the strength, resilience, and progress of those who came before us.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, supported us, and helped make this weekend one to remember. Together, we continue building community, honoring history, and creating opportunities for future generations.

Got a future drummer at home? The Essence Legacy Percussion Program is the perfect place for beginners to learn, grow, and build confidence through music! 🎶🔥

Students will learn:
🥁 Proper drum technique
