🇹🇼 11 Days. One Incredible Journey. A Lifetime of Impact.

Our YMCA Delaware Global Teens have returned home after an unforgettable exchange in Taiwan—a journey filled with learning, service, leadership, and cultural immersion.

Over the course of 11 days, our teens experienced Taiwan in ways that went far beyond sightseeing. They:

🤝 Connected with Taiwanese youth through meaningful cultural exchange and leadership activities at the YMCA.

🎨 Served alongside local communities in Changhua, painting, cleaning, and giving back through hands-on service projects.

🏛️ Explored Taiwan’s rich history and culture by visiting the National Palace Museum, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Tamsui, Jiufen Old Street, Dadaocheng, and the Office of the President.

🍍 Learned through experience by making traditional pineapple cakes, creating bamboo rice, designing Atayal beadwork, and discovering indigenous traditions in the Atayal village of Delanan.

💡 Visited world-renowned innovation leaders including the TSMC Museum of Innovation and the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), gaining insight into the technology shaping our future.

🌄 Experienced Taiwan’s breathtaking beauty with visits to Shifen Waterfall, Jiufen, Fulong Beach, the International Sand Sculpture Festival, the Old Caoling Bike Tunnel, and Taiwan’s stunning west coast tidal flats.

🏮 Released sky lanterns, explored vibrant night markets, shared meals with new friends, reflected together each evening, and built friendships that crossed cultures and continents.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible partners at Taipei YMCA and Chung Hua YMCA, our dedicated chaperones, generous supporters, and the families who entrusted us with their young people.

The world became a little smaller, our perspectives became much bigger, and these memories will last a lifetime.
