Last week, we shared Marsha Lester's Success Story from our Stand By Me: Delaware Financial Empowerment Partnership (powered by United Way of Delaware). That program regularly works with our Launcher Entrepreneurship program and today, we highlight Herminio "Hermy" Cornejo Jimenez, who recently became our 1,500th Launcher graduate, and also one of our Spanish-speaking customers.

Financial coaching is about more than money. It is about trust, stability, and having someone in your corner. 💚💙

In the linked video, Marsha Lester shares how Stand By Me: Delaware Financial Empowerment Partnership 50+ and her Financial Coach, Karen Summa, helped her navigate real-life challenges, including medical, legal, property tax, rent, and utility concerns. Marsha first met Karen through the Newark Senior Center, and along the way, Karen became more than a coach. She became a trusted guide, steady support, and friend.

Marsha’s story is one example of the impact happening every day through the statewide program, powered by United Way of Delaware. In FY26, our three financial coaches served 659 people through 1,993 one-on-one coaching sessions, helping clients build budgets, improve credit, grow savings, reduce debt, and move forward with confidence.

Big news for Delaware entrepreneurs—and thank you to Senator Darius Brown for helping make it possible! 🎉

We are proud to share this new character-based lending initiative, which will offer eligible current and future Launcher graduates access to one of 45 business loans of up to $10,000 at just 2% interest, along with continued coaching and support.

Our sincere thanks are also extended to Sen. Dan Cruce, Delaware State Bank Commissioner Lisa W. Collison, Stepping Stones Community Federal Credit Union, Capital One, and everyone who helped bring this opportunity to life.
