American Cancer Society's Cattle Baron's Ball - Wichita, KS

The American Cancer Society's Cattle Baron's Ball (formerly Cattlemen's Ball) has been a proud Wichita tradition since 1990.

The western themed event includes a prime rib buffet, open bars, live and posted bid auctions, live entertainment and so much more. All proceeds from this event fund the American Cancer Society's research, education, advocacy and patient programs.

The American Cancer Society started the Cattle Baron's Ball in Dallas, Texas in 1974. Throughout the years, the Ball has spread to multiple cities across the US, including Wichita.

By spreading awareness while having a memorable evening full of music, food, and entertainment, the Cattle Baron's Balls combined have raised over an estimated $111 Million since its inception.

✨ Introducing The 2026 Cattle Baron’s Ball Chair: Marcie Kelly ✨

Marcie has proudly volunteered with the American Cancer Society since 2014. Her journey began when she was invited to share her personal cancer story at Lobby Day at the Capitol, advocating for legislation to protect teens from the dangers of tanning beds. That effort was successful—and it sparked a lasting commitment to advocacy, perseverance, and the power of community.

Since then, Marcie has continued to serve the American Cancer Society in various leadership roles. She is honored to serve as the 2026 Cattle Baron’s Ball Chair, marking her third year working alongside an incredible team of passionate and dedicated individuals.

Marcie’s dedication to this cause is deeply personal. While inspired by her own cancer journey, her commitment is driven by a desire to support others facing similar battles—because no one should have to walk that path alone.

This year’s Cattle Baron’s Ball will shine a spotlight on firefighters and the disproportionate cancer risks they face due to occupational exposures. Firefighters put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities, yet they face significantly higher cancer risks as a result of their service. The American Cancer Society believes early detection is key to saving lives, and this year’s event will focus on raising awareness, prevention, and protecting those who protect us—working together to end cancer for more firefighters.
