This week, May 19-20, WAU Participated in a two-day nonprofit certification Magnify Workshop, facilitated by NonprofitGO at WSU Community Engagement Center, Farm Credit Bank Building, 245 N. Waco Street, Wichita, Kansas. In total, eight nonprofits, including WAU, attended this intensive training, creating a rich environment for shared learning and meaningful networking. We learned a lot from NonprofitGO about the steps for starting and sustaining a successful nonprofit. The sessions covered governance, operations, budgeting, compliance and other core components of effective organizational management. This was a great workshop because of the comprehensive nature of the curriculum, combined with the small class size, which allowed for deep engagement and active participation from every attendee. We left the workshop empowered, equipped with practical knowledge, and renewed enthusiasm to guide our respective teams toward continued growth and increased impact.
We were so honored to, in the process, connect with amazing nonprofits who are doing great things in our community:
Shepherd's Way Nonprofit GO Faith Builders, Bike Walk Wichita,
Thrive Re*****on, Beggarman Ministries, Club Parkinson's, Kiah's Princess Project, & The Society of Child Entrepreneurs.

During the month of February, we do receive a lot of requests from local schools to share something about African culture, whether through performances or presentations. This year we were honored to visit Minneha Core Knowledge Magnet School on February 24. The audience was very eager to learn. We had an interactive session that is memorable. Many thanks to the school Admin, teachers and staff for their roles in facilitating the session, and to our primary presenter, Godfred and Luke for their time to make the presentation possible.

The history of Mali Empire and its historic ruler, Mansa Musa.
