Last month, we teamed up with Meritrust Credit Union to help provide backpacks for students in the Denver area.

Denver may be outside our normal service area, but when a local partner with ties to that community asked how we could help, we were happy to jump in. We provided the backpacks and helped connect Meritrust with a great resource for the supplies to fill them, making sure students had what they needed to start the school year ready to succeed.

From there, Meritrust partnered with Denver Nuggets guard (and Kansas native) Christian Braun to bring it all together for an incredible Back to School event!

We love working alongside local partners who want to make a difference, whether that impact is right here at home or reaches a little farther. When great partners come together, students win!

Last month, we teamed up with our friends at Schaefer Architecture to deliver school supplies and teacher resources to Newton Schools!

For the past few years, we've partnered with Schaefer to show appreciation to teachers in communities where they've worked. It's a simple but meaningful way to give back to the schools and educators who make a difference in those communities every day.

We love working with companies that recognize that building stronger schools also means supporting the people inside them. When teachers feel appreciated and have the resources they need, they're better equipped to help their students succeed.

A big THANK YOU to Schaefer for continuing to invest in teachers, students, and the communities they serve. We're grateful for your partnership!

We loved having students from Maize South High School spend their Day of Service with us today! This group of 15 students jumped right in and packed nearly 1,300 homework supply kits that will be distributed to students across our community.

We’re especially grateful for schools that make community service a priority and give students opportunities to see firsthand the impact they can have on others.

Thank you, Maize South, for showing up and serving our community so well!

Today we distributed nearly 400 supply bags to counselors, social workers, and psychologists with Wichita Public Schools during their inservice training!

Over the past 2 years, we’ve been intentional about expanding the ways Project Teacher serves the mental health professionals who care for students every day. Last year, through a partnership with Dr. Lyndsey Brown and Wichita State University College of Education School Counseling program, we launched our Counselor Care initiative. That collaboration helped us better understand what these professionals need and how Project Teacher can come alongside them.

This school year, we’re excited to build on that work by offering even more resources, and today we had the opportunity to share those resources directly with these incredible professionals.

We believe every student deserves to walk into school and feel like they belong. Supporting the counselors, social workers, and psychologists who help create that sense of connection is one more way we can help make that happen.

A HUGE thank you to Spangles for hosting a school supply drive at all of their locations across Kansas!

The response was incredible, and we are blown away by the generosity of Spangles customers and team members. Even better, the supplies collected will go right back out to support classrooms in ALL of the Kansas communities Spangles calls home.
We love seeing businesses step up for teachers and students.

Thank you, Spangles, for making such a big impact!

That’s a wrap on another incredible KAKE News School Supply Landslide!

Thanks to the generosity of our community, these supplies will support hundreds of classrooms and thousands of students across the state, helping ensure educators have the tools they need to give their students the best chance to learn and succeed.

We’re so grateful to KAKE and Dillons Wichita locations for their continued support and for serving as drop-off locations, as well as Prochaska Law Firm for their generous support of the campaign.

And, of course, the biggest thank-you goes to YOU…the individuals, businesses, organizations, and neighbors who showed up and donated. Every box, notebook, pencil, backpack, and supply makes a difference in a teacher’s classroom.

Because when we invest in our teachers, we invest in our students.

Thank you for helping make this year’s School Supply Landslide such a huge success!
