✨ The Heart of HVO: Laura ✨💙
This week we're featuring Laura, HVO's Director of Employment and Training and a member of our leadership team. For 26 years, she has been dedicated to helping individuals find opportunity, build skills, and gain greater independence.
When asked what keeps her motivated, her answer was simple: the people we serve.
"Seeing individuals grow, achieve goals, and experience success helps me stay focused on our mission and the difference we make in their lives."
Recently, while reading annual surveys from parents and guardians, Laura was reminded why this work matters. Stories about improved communication skills, increased confidence and independence, new friendships, learning to cook, exploring a career path, and earning a first paycheck are powerful reminders of HVO's impact.
Laura shared that what may seem small to others can be life-changing for the people we serve. Learning to tie a shoe, mastering a new skill, traveling independently, or getting a job often leads to even bigger accomplishments.
After 26 years, she still believes HVO is more than a service, it's a community where people find belonging, inclusion, opportunity, and purpose. 💙
