The Pearl Institute is a nonprofit that aims to bring cutting edge, trauma informed care into mainstream practice through research, treatment, and training while bridging the barriers to patient access. Meet our Board Chair, Ajay Dahiya.

Ajay is a spiritual activist, philanthropic thought leader, and longtime advocate for the transformative power of service. With nearly a decade of monastic experience, his journey has been shaped by a simple belief: the real privilege in life is the privilege of serving others.

From growing up in an immigrant family in London to leading mission-driven organizations, Ajay has dedicated his life to building stronger communities and creating a more equitable, compassionate world. Today, he brings that same spirit of service to philanthropy: championing grassroots leaders, expanding access to funding, and reminding us that little things matter.

We’re grateful to have Ajay’s vision, heart, and leadership guiding our work as our board chair. Everyone give a warm welcome to Ajay!💛

A look back at the magical evening that was the 5th Annual Gathering of the Pearl thanks to Fiasco Media

The Gathering is about more than one evening. It’s about creating connections across disciplines, communities, and perspectives-and building the relationships that move this work forward. Thank you for believing in The Pearl and helping shape the future of psychedelic-assisted care with integrity and heart. We are honored to be Building Bridges to the Future with you.

The Pearl is able to bring leading voices in psychedelic care, research, and advocacy to Asheville because of the generosity of our community. Your support helps us welcome speakers and teachers, create accessible educational programming, and continue providing psychedelic-assisted therapy and integrative care. And right now, that support is helping us take an even bigger step: expanding The Pearl’s wide range of mental health services to Asheville. Come pop by our booth at the Womyn Rising artisan market and community day at Hellbender on October 17th!

Featuring music from Abby Bryant and Sunnyside Stringband

Born in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the free celebration brings 40+ women-led makers, musicians and organizations together for one powerful day of community support. This events puts attention, dollars and connection behind the women helping WNC create, rebuild and move forward. A special Womyn Rising merchandise collection will extend that support even further, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Our VOICE.

The Womyn Rising Celebration, happening Saturday, Oct. 17 from 2–7 p.m. at Hellbender, will bring together an artisan market, live music and community gathering around a simple idea: show up for the women who keep showing up for Western North Carolina.

We hope to see you there to celebrate, connect, and support!

We were honored that our clinical & executive director Dr. Raymond Turpin was able to speak about the importance of psychedelic training programs at the FDA public hearing Monday for Potential Future Therapeutic Use of Psychedelic Drugs.

Raymond eloquently captured the importance of experiential and thorough trainings within this field to create competent practitioners and maintain the safety and wellbeing of clients.
