You found the one. Maybe it’s the goofy hound with the giant ears. Maybe it’s the cat with the captivating eyes. So what happens next?
The first step is filling out an interest form. This lets us know you’re interested in a specific animal and helps our Adoption Coordinator start learning a little about you, your household, and what you’re looking for in a companion.
Meet and greets are scheduled in the order that interest forms are received. If an animal catches your eye, submitting an interest form is the best way to start the conversation and get in line to meet them.
One important thing to know: submitting an interest form does not automatically reserve or guarantee adoption of that animal. Some of our pets receive multiple interest forms, sometimes within hours of being posted. Our goal is always to find the best match for both the animal and the adopter, so we work through inquiries in the order they’re received and evaluate each potential placement individually.
Once it’s your turn, our Adoption Coordinator will reach out, usually by phone, to learn more about your lifestyle, current pets, and what you’re hoping for in your future family member. It’s not a test. It’s a chance for us to answer questions, share what we know about the animal, and help determine if it’s a good fit.
From there, we’ll schedule a meet and greet. While we do accommodate walk-ins, appointments take priority. As a small team with one Adoption Coordinator, scheduled appointments allow us to dedicate time to you and the pet you’re interested in without feeling rushed.
At the end of the day, our goal isn’t just getting pets adopted. It’s helping pets and people find the right match. A little extra time on the front end helps create successful adoptions, smoother transitions, and happy endings for everyone involved. 🐾
