In August, we welcomed several new members to our Board of Directors. Let us introduce you to them and learn more about their role in our community.

First up, meet Adam Tabor. Adam is the Market Director of Human Resources for Duke Lifepoint Health. After moving back to WNC four years ago, he wanted to make a difference in the community. Through his background in healthcare, he has seen how closely health is tied to everything else in a person's life, including stable housing, access to food, education, and financial security.

In his free time, Adam loves to hike the beautiful mountains, spending quality time with his family, and exploring new local restaurants whenever he gets the chance.

This week marks two years since Hurricane Helene changed Haywood County forever. Throughout that time, one thing has remained constant: when times are tough, community comes together. We are proud to have raised over $3 million to help our neighbors regain their livelihood.

Every year, Town of Waynesville staff participate in the United Way Day of Caring. On September 10, staff built a ramp so that a Waynesville resident could easily access his home. We are appreciative to have such amazing and skilled staff, and honored to give back to our community.
