Hope in Motion may have “walk” in the name, but walking is completely optional. You can spend the morning meeting new friends, discovering resources, checking out activities, entering raffles and hanging out with people who care about mental health and our community.

September is Su***de Prevention Month.

Suicidal thoughts can affect anyone, and no one should face them alone. Starting a conversation, listening without judgment and helping someone connect with support can make a difference.

Throughout September, we’ll share resources, information and opportunities to come together, including our Hope in Motion Walk on September 19.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around how incredibly awesome Friday night was!

NAMI members and supporters from across Wisconsin gathered at Ariens Hill before heading into Lambeau Field, where we had the opportunity to be on the field before kickoff as part of the Packers Give Back recognition.

Standing on Lambeau Field was absolutely surreal. Even better, I got to share the night with my husband and some wonderful people from across the NAMI family, including Chrissy Barnard, Executive Director of NAMI - Lake Superior South Shore, WI, and Kody Green, Vice President of the NAMI Wisconsin Board and a fierce mental health advocate with an enormous reach.

There are moments when this work is exhausting. Then there are moments like this, surrounded by hundreds of people who believe that mental health matters and that no one should face mental illness alone.

This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and one I won’t forget.

Thank you, NAMI Wisconsin and the Green Bay Packers!

The NAMI Northwoods office will be closed Friday, August 28, while we attend the Packers Give Back Game with NAMI Wisconsin.

We’ll reopen Monday, August 31, at noon. Go Pack Go! 💚💛

🐾 It’s National Dog Day! Meet Daisy, Tracy’s sweet baby.

Daisy loves humans of all shapes and sizes. She loves snacky treats, and she loves going for walks.

What Daisy does not love is other dogs.

Hope in Motion is fur-baby friendly, but Daisy will be cheering us on from home. Part of loving our pets is knowing what makes them feel safe and comfortable.

If your dog enjoys people, other dogs, and busy community events, they are welcome to walk with you! Please keep them leashed and clean up after them. If crowds and other animals are not their thing, they can celebrate with a walk and a special treat at home, just like Daisy.
