IMPORTANT AIRSHOW UPDATE

Unfortunately, the F/A-18 from the West Coast Rhino Demo Team (VFA-122) that many of you saw flying yesterday has experienced unexpected mechanical issues and will not be able to perform at Wings Over Wausau today.

While we're disappointed by this development, safety is always the top priority for both the aircraft and crew. Mechanical issues are an occasional reality in aviation, and we appreciate your understanding.

The good news is that all other scheduled performances remain on schedule at this time, and we still have an incredible lineup of military aircraft, aerobatic performers, aviation displays, family activities, food vendors, live entertainment, and much more planned throughout the night.

We're also pleased to share that a member of the F/A-18 team is currently en route to pick up an aircraft, with the goal of having the replacement F/A-18 ready to fly at tomorrow's show.

In addition, the F/A-18 team has graciously agreed to spend time with our guests today. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., team members will be available for a meet-and-greet at their tent located next to the Navy tent near the Elmwood Gate. This is a great opportunity to meet the crew, ask questions, and learn more about the aircraft and their mission.

We are also honored that LT Evan "Squints" Goss, leader of the F/A-18 flight demonstration team, has agreed to join our airshow announcer in the tower at the start of today's show. Squints will provide special commentary and behind-the-scenes insight to help make the airshow experience even more memorable.

Thank you to the entire F/A-18 team for going above and beyond for our fans, and thank you to all of our guests for your understanding and support. We look forward to seeing everyone at Wings Over Wausau for an exciting day of aviation action!

🚨 WAUSAU... ARE YOU READY TO MAKE SOME NOISE?! 🚨

We just received word from the U.S. Navy FA-18E/F Super Hornet Aircraft Demo Team, and they are gearing up to perform their FULL aerobatic demonstration at Wings Over Wausau! 🔥✈️

That means you'll witness one of the most powerful and jaw-dropping military aircraft demonstrations in the world as these incredible pilots push the Super Hornet to its limits with high-speed passes, gravity-defying maneuvers, and aerobatics that most have never seen performed by an aircraft of this size and power. The team is scheduled for only a handful of appearances this year, making their stop in Wausau an extraordinary opportunity.

The roar. The speed. The precision. The adrenaline! 🔥✈️‼️

This isn't just another flyover—it's the kind of performance that takes your breath away, turns every eye to the sky, and leaves you talking about it long after the show is over!

June 26-27, the skies above Wausau Downtown Airport are going to come alive with world-class aviation action, daytime and nighttime airshows, fireworks, family activities, and now the FULL Super Hornet demo experience.
