Found cat-deceased.
Found near Wasilla Fishhook, and bridle path Drive, just down the road from via Tranquila Drive. No microchip. No collar. Photo in the comments. We will take to the shelter Saturday for them to compare to their lost pet reports. Thx

3/14/26 UPDATE: this sweet pup has been humanely trapped! She has a leg injury and is now receiving care at Matsu Animal shelter. No microchip.

2/12/26 UPDATE: DASH WAS HUMANELY TRAPPED AFTER 8 MONTHS!!!

🚨 ‼️ Dash has been running scared and alone across the valley since he went missing on June 11, 2025. We’ve only had a handful of sightings, but in that time he has traveled many, many miles trying to survive.

Dash isn’t a dog who can simply be “caught.” He’s frightened, and the only way to bring him home safely is through humane trapping. We cannot do this without the help of the community.

If you see Dash, please don’t chase him, stare at him, or try to talk to him. Those actions, even when well-intended, can make him panic and run farther and can even push him into traffic.
If you’re able, quietly put food down and walk away. If Dash finds the food and eats it, he may return to that same spot. With consistency, that food can become his safe place.

If you are helping by monitoring a food station, please continue to add food each time he returns. Repeating this is what builds trust and routine. Once Dash is coming back regularly, we can set a humane trap and finally bring him out of survival mode and back to safety where he belongs.

Do you recognize these stray dogs? They have been repeatedly spotted in the Dimond Way/Hay Street area of Wasilla (off Blue Lupine near the Parks Highway) and are still on the loose. Hello dog owners!

We’re going to take a minute to share a phrase that is very commonly heard in the dog training world. (This also came from one of our local animal control officers).

"If you don't set a situation up to succeed, then you are setting it up to fail!”

With that in mind, New Year's Eve is almost here. There WILL be fireworks. Everywhere. LOTS of fireworks. Some legal, some not.

The local pet pages will be inundated with "my dog was scared by fireworks and ran away" posts starting very soon, and they will continue throughout the weekend.

Please, for your dog's sake, have some foresight and set up your situation to succeed:

‼️ Make sure collars/harnesses fit properly.
‼️ Use leashes.
‼️ Don't "let your dog out to potty".
‼️ Fenced yard? Check fence/gates.
‼️ Tie outs? Check them.
‼️ Put an ID tag on your dog.
‼️ Use crates/kennels if needed.
‼️ Bonfire/party? Leave your dog inside.

Our dog's safety is on us, as owners.

You know the fireworks are coming, and if you don't set yourself up to succeed, failure (your dog being lost/hit by a car, vet bills, impound fees) is what you will end up with. Please take a few minutes to prepare.

A significant number of lost pets we encounter have escaped while under the care of a pet sitter. Animals do not comprehend the concept of vacation and may exhibit unusual behavior when separated from their owners.
