Rehabilitation activities include fishing, hunting, skiing, rodeo, dog sledding tours and various other outdoor pursuits. We continuously strive to provide new and challenging opportunities and experiences in an effort to contribute to the social reinte

gration necessary for our nation’s heroes. We endeavor to reach beyond the traditional clinical rehabilitation offered to injured military personnel by providing them with alternate coping techniques and helping them to continue living active and productive lives. Our Mission is to “Serve the Battle Wounded and Battle Weary.” Alaska’s Healing Hearts witnesses first-hand how our various programs and events genuinely help bolster confidence and self-esteem. Our goal is to continue providing opportunities that aid in the discovery of the new normal for every Warrior and their loved ones. We are able to do these great things because of our volunteer board and staff. We have no paid positions in our entire organization. We rely solely on funding from our sponsors with goods or services, and the hard work and time donated by our volunteers. Alaska's Healing Hearts is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt #27-4036000, non-profit organization. Hard Water Warriors is planning to hold instructed ice fishing trips to local Alaskan lakes for any and all veterans wanting to experience the best ice fishing in North America. AHH will be able to show these veterans comradery and the serenity and beauty of Alaska ice fishing. Ice Fishing demands cooperation and teamwork from setup to teardown, provides some of the best fishing experience you can ever have, and facilitates calming and decompressing coping techniques for all involved. Today's event FINALLY happened after being postponed for the past couple of weeks due to either having 90mph wind gusts or we were coming off a -26 cold snap. For most families this was their first time ice fishing 🧊🐟 and all we can say is that they are hooked! They were spoiled with a day of ice fishing, campfire, lunch, and beautiful views.

🚗 The Armed Services YMCA is giving JBER service members and their dependents a LYFT!

Enjoy $30 of weekly Lyft rides to help get to medical appointments and recreational opportunities. This program is open to all active duty military members or dependents starting or ending their trip on JBER. ⭐️

This Saturday (May 3rd) join AKWP at JBER’s Military Retiree Appreciation Day! There will be food trucks, a health fair and lots of local military/veteran focused organizations to connect with.

Thank you to all the Hardwater Warrior families that joined us this ice fishing season but the fun isn't over yet!

We fall under Alaska's Healing Hearts and they have four other amazing program pages on Facebook. They include the AHH Island of Hope and Healing, AHH GoSēK “Getting Lost to Be Found”, and the AHH-Warrior Lodge. Each program is designed to support Military Veterans and their families in different ways. 🇺🇸

Our last Hardwater Warriors ice fishing event for this winter was a blast and we literally went out with a BANG. 💥 All HWW families from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson - JBER caught fish and had the time of their life! They were able to reel in Arctic Char, Rainbow Trout, and Landlocked Salmon. For most families this was their first time ice fishing 🧊🐟 and all we can say is that they are hooked if you can't tell from their smiles! 🤩
