We’ve had a busy but fantastic week at the Philanthropy Northwest Conference in Anchorage this week! Our staff members were able to connect with different foundations and nonprofits across the Pacific Northwest who are all working to create healthier communities. The work we’re doing here in the Mat-Su is also happening all over our region, and all over the country! It’s been an inspiring week, and we are confident of this: good things are growing here. 🌱

We joined our friends at Wasilla Area Seniors, Inc. this past weekend for their fall harvest brunch! WASI has been a longtime partner and grantee doing amazing work for our older adults population in the Mat-Su. Marlene Munsell leads with dignity and grace, and her staff pours out so much to make Mat-Su healthier for older adults. A great time was had! 🍂😊

Great progress is being made at the new behavioral health hospital construction site! This facility will be able to bring behavioral healthcare closer to home in the Mat-Su, a long-needed resource. We're also grateful to the local construction crew working hard to bring this project to life. It's exciting to look ahead!

We’re moving dirt! 🚜

Work is underway on the new 45-bed Mat-Su Regional Behavioral Health facility, and Mat-Su Regional CEO Taylor Rudd stopped by the site to check out the progress.

The new facility, a partnership between Mat-Su Regional Medical Center and Mat-Su Health Foundation, will include 27 adult beds and 18 adolescent beds, helping bring much-needed behavioral health care closer to home for our community.

- Consulting Services for Scholarship Program and CRM Assessment, System Selection, and Implementation Planning: Mat-Su Health Foundation seeks proposals from experienced contractors to collaborate in conducting a comprehensive assessment of CRM solutions that can support the scholarship department.

- Crisis Response Coordinator: MSHF seeks experienced, local contractors to maintain progress in the development and implementation of local crisis response initiatives.

One of our very own, Cherry Wolf, starred in a local theatre production of “Come From Away!” We loved going to see her shine and tell a powerful story of community, growth in hardship, and finding belonging. Our staff members are involved in different community activities, and it’s always a blast to support each other.

Here at Mat-Su Health Foundation, we aim to improve the health and wellness of the entire Mat-Su borough. That includes the cities of Palmer and Wasilla, as well as some of the Valley's outer areas, like Talkeetna, Sutton, and Glacier View. In all these areas, Mat-Su residents live, work, and play!
