Thank you so much for joining us at our 24th annual Mat-Su Martin Luther King, Jr. Foundation, Inc. celebration. Our entire Board of Directors and all Board Members are deeply grateful for your support of our mission. We hope this year's theme, "Renewing The American Handshake," touched your heart as profoundly as it touched ours. Dr. King's legacy isn't just history—it's a living call to action that we carry forward together.

Our goal is to ignite that spark of understanding in everyone who walks through our doors, ensuring each person leaves not only informed but transformed, ready to be a force for positive change in the Mat-Su Valley. Every person in attendance contributes to the powerful energy that makes our celebration a beacon of hope and unity in our community.

According to Wade Rippe's (from Wasilla) rationale, he explains why there is no legal clinic for a 'Day of Service' in observance of the MLK, Jr. holiday in the Mat-Su.

He states, "Not in the Mat-Su because it's a FRONT for Socialist Activism AGAINST Legal, Lawful, & Legitimate People of Integrity.

These "lawyers" are just trying to manipulate while stuffing their Pockets, and they have better possibilities in the Socialist Strongholds. They can't POSSIBLY "win" in a Courtroom that's focused on Justice. They need Political Activists in robes to push their Agendas & Narratives."

Nevermind that fact during Veteran's Day, there was a legal clinic held in the Mat-Su (at the Menard Center). Did he give the same narrative? That speaks volumes...

This powerful gathering honors the enduring spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., celebrates The Alaska Highway Project's impact, and recognizes an outstanding Alaskan whose contributions light the way forward.

These moments remind us that when we come together with purpose and hope, we build the future Dr. King envisioned—one where every voice matters and every dream has wings.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

The Mat-Su Martin Luther King, Jr. Foundation invites Mat-Su Valley high school seniors to apply for scholarships totaling $3,500.

Three awards will be given: $2,000, $1,000, and $500. These are one-time, non-renewable scholarships for the 2025/2026 academic year.

How to Apply:

Application forms are available at matsumlkjr.org and through the Mat-Su Borough School District website. Completed applications must be postmarked by April 15, 2026, and mailed to:
