We love to have volunteers of all ages. 12 and under need to have an accompanying adult. Some of the positions have age restrictions. If there is a restriction, the details will be on the sign-up.

Each volunteer will need to sign a liability waiver. You can find that online here https://tools.signupgenius.com/c/liability-wavierhold-harmless-agreement if the volunteer is under 18, a parent must sign the waiver for them.

Hello CFD friends! We are partnering with Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry to put on a Spooktacular Halloween event!

Wednesday, August 19th, at 6:00 PM, we will be having a planning meeting for our Halloween fundraiser at the Museum of Alaska in Wasilla. This event is going to be a BLAST! If you'd like to be involved in planning, you won't want to miss this meeting! 

September will be a busy month as we get things ready for the, Nightmare at the Museum. Planning/preparing/decorating meetings begin (meetings held at the Museum of Alaska in Wasilla); dates and meeting information below...

September 5th, Saturday 10 AM-12 PM CFD Board Meeting, 12 PM-3 PM Cleaning/Organizing Museum
September 9th, Wednesday 5 PM-8 PM Cleaning/Organizing 
September 12th, Saturday 10 AM-3 PM Decorating
September 16th, Wednesday 5 PM-8 PM Decorating
September 19th, Saturday 10 AM-3 PM Decorating

Hello friends! We promised you exciting things were coming. Here’s what we have in store! CFD and The Museum of Alaska are joining forces and putting on an amazing Halloween event.

Here’s where you come in…we will need volunteers for decorating and set up (in September) Volunteers to run the event each Friday and Saturday in October, donations of baked goods and candy. Monetary donations are welcome as well. Then we will need your help tearing everything down.

Volunteers will be able to sign up through SignUp Genius just like you would for the Christmas Friendship Dinner. I will post the link to that when it is live.

August 7th, Friday we will be having a board meeting to plan our Halloween Fundraiser and begin planning of the 2026 Christmas Friendship Dinner. As always, the public is welcome to join our meetings. In fact, we love it when new friends come! Our meeting will be held at the Windbreak Cafe in Wasilla at 6:00 pm.

I realize some of you may be thinking it’s a little early for this but, I usure you it isn’t. A big event like this takes months to plan.

Planning for the 2026 Christmas Friendship Dinner has officially commenced!

Our volunteer appreciation party was a great success. Thank you, to all who attended!

We shared stories, gave away door prizes, voted on and welcomed new board members, filled a few of the lead positions that were open, and shared a delicious meal.

Who’s ready to celebrate?! This Saturday, April 11th from 11-1 we are having a Volunteer Appreciation Party.

Where: 3800 W Museum Dr • Wasilla, AK
(The Alaska Transportation Museum Event Center)

This includes, volunteers from the past, present and future! We want new volunteers who are ready to jump in and help our community have the best holiday. As you may know, holidays can be hard and lonely for many.

We will have door prizes, food and encouraging stories. We also have a little bit of business to take care of.
