Girl Scouts

Girl Scouts We Are Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world.

Through programs from coast to coast, Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges—whether they want to climb to the top of a tree or the top of their class, lace up their boots for a hike or advocate for climate justice, or make their first best friends. Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors,

and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them. To join us, volunteer, reconnect, or donate, visit www.girlscouts.org.

For many students with learning disabilities, accessing DMV testing accommodations can be a confusing barrier to earning a driver’s license. Drawing on her own experience with dyslexia, Sophia worked to make this essential information clearer and easier to access.

She created and shared an accessible, step-by-step resource through her school district and social media, helping students understand how to request available DMV testing support. Her project helps ensure more young people can approach this important milestone with the information and confidence they deserve.

Amazing job! Way to lead with empathy, advocacy, and purpose, Sophia! 💚 Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council

A moment of courage can change everything. 💚

While traveling in Greece with her Girl Scout troop last summer, Madilyn realized a young child was drowning and immediately jumped into action to rescue him.

“I simply saw the child in danger and acted,” Madilyn shared. “I felt shocked by what had just happened and by the fact that I had just saved a child’s life.”

Her instinct to act, courage in the moment, and quick thinking helped save a life. Today, Madilyn is being recognized with the Girl Scout Medal of Honor for her extraordinary actions.

Junior Girl Scout Troops from Girl Scouts River Valleys built something amazing for their community: a Beach Toy Library, just in time for those last‑minute summer beach trips. 🌊✨

As part of earning their Bronze Award, the girls brainstormed ideas, created plans, presented to the Waverly Parks Commission, shopped for supplies, built, painted, and made the sign themselves. The Beach Toy Library is already getting tons of use, and community members can even add their own items. 💚

Congrats to Girl Scout Ada on her Gold Award project, Fidget & Fashion! 🧵 Inspired by a friend’s experience with sensory discomfort from clothing, Ada founded a sewing club at her high school. Students learned practical sewing, mending, and upcycling skills while raising awareness of sensory-friendly clothing, disability inclusion, and the impact of fast fashion. Together, they created 20 sensory fidgets for school counselors, therapists, and clients, and built skills that will continue through the club long after Ada’s project.

Way to lead with creativity, compassion, and purpose, Ada! 💛 Girl Scouts Nation's Capital

Their Girl Scout Silver Award project is growing...and earning national recognition! 🌱💚 Cadettes Victoria, Lanaiyah, Skyla, and Faith brought together more than 50 youth and adults to create 50 self-sustaining mobile gardens for families, seniors, and neighbors facing food insecurity and transportation barriers in Liberty County.

Their leadership and hard work earned each of them the Girl Scout Silver Award, and now, the inaugural Keep America Beautiful Youth Engagement Recognition Award: Youth Group. Congratulations to these four change makers for growing gardens, strengthening their community, and showing what Girl Scouts can do! 🎉 Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia

💚⚓ Different generations. Same spirit of adventure.🦈

From the Girl Scout Mariners of the 1930s and '50s to today's girls tagging sharks with Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida, one thing hasn't changed: Girl Scouts learn by doing. Whether they're navigating open water or contributing to real marine conservation, girls gain the confidence to take on challenges, the courage to try something new, and the skills to make a difference.
