When everything changed in an instant, Rachel stepped up with courage.
During winter camp, a fellow Girl Scout suffered a severe asthma attack and collapsed. In a remote, snow‑covered camp with no cell service, every second mattered. Rachel immediately recognized something was wrong and sprinted to get help, ensuring her Girl Scout sister received critical care when she needed it most.

For her quick thinking, courage, and compassion, Rachel was awarded the Girl Scout Medal of Honor, one of the highest lifesaving honors in Girl Scouting. 🏅

Rachel’s bravery is a powerful reminder that leadership has no age limit. 💚

Girl Scout alum Jessica Watkins is taking leadership to new heights! 🚀 As commander of NASA’s Crew-13 mission to the International Space Station, she’s leading a crew into orbit and inspiring girls to see just how far curiosity, determination, and a love of STEM can take them.

She walked into the California State Assembly as a Girl Scout and walked out having moved a bill forward with unanimous support!
Natalie testified with courage and total confidence, all for a bill that started as her Silver Award project.

AB1653, also known as Natalie’s Heat Illness Education for Students bill, passed committee with zero opposition in May and was later signed into law in July 2026.

What she hoped her school district would adopt is now protecting students across California. That’s the power of a girl who leads!

They spoke up to help end child marriage. And helped make history. 👏
Troop 62435 of Girl Scouts of Northern California joined survivors and advocates in supporting AB 1267, setting California’s minimum marriage age at 18. No exceptions. On September 30, the bill was signed into law. We’re proud of these Girl Scouts for taking action to protect other young people’s rights and futures. 💚 Please drop a comment for this incredible group of Girl Scouts who made their voices heard!

For her Gold Award, Avalyn created an Arts & Literacy Festival to support families in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV), where literacy rates are among the lowest in the nation and access to resources is limited. She learned that many community members face barriers like poverty, language differences, and a lack of awareness about local organizations that can help improve literacy skills.

To address these challenges, Avalyn brought together local partners into one free, family‑friendly hub filled with author presentations, workshops, art, music, games, and bilingual English/Spanish resources. More than 400 donated books were distributed, 185+ attendees participated, and several organizations gained new program sign‑ups. She did this all in an environment designed to make learning feel welcoming, joyful, and judgment‑free.

Her festival created a sustainable model for literacy access: Brownsville Parks & Recreation has officially committed to continuing the event annually, and local partners like Buho Books have already increased their donation goals for next year.

By celebrating culture, community, and education, Avalyn’s project honors Hispanic Heritage Month and empowers families across the RGV with the tools and confidence to keep learning. 💛📚🌟 Girl Scouts of Greater South Texas

What started with something Claire learned from her dad became a project that could support her entire school.

Inspired by her dad’s work as a trauma surgeon, the Troop 10813 Cadette raised enough funds to place bleeding control kits in every classroom at her school for her . But she didn’t stop there. Claire also hosted after-school workshops to teach students and teachers how to use the kits and be better prepared in an emergency.
