Chris Hansen will moderate. A state attorney general will speak. But the heart of this panel belongs to a survivor.

At 12 years old, Schlep was targeted by a prominent Roblox developer who groomed him over three years — sending him graphic violent content, po*******hy, and engaging in inappropriate sexual conversations. Now he's telling his story publicly, and we're honored he's bringing it to our National Training Institute this September.

Schlep will be joined by his attorney, Martin Gould, and Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrell, whose state sued Roblox for failing to protect children on its platform. To Catch a Predator's Chris Hansen will moderate.

The panel will include a live demonstration of how vulnerable young players are to exploitation online.

We're grateful to Schlep for his courage in sharing what happened to him — and for channeling that experience into advocacy that could protect countless other children.

Join us in Chicago from September 9–September 11. Register and learn more at victimsofcrime.org/NTI

On the latest episode of Parallel Justice, we hear about Christian Toby Obumseli, who was killed by girlfriend, Courtney Clenne. The case gained widespread attention in part because of Clenne's status as an OnlyFans model -- but there's much more to the story.

Michael Haggard represents Obumseli’s family in a civil wrongful death lawsuit. He joins us to examine the high-profile nature of the investigation and the public attention that came with it. He also walks listeners through how racial stereotypes may have impacted the public perception of the case and how his death could have been prevented, unpacking how evidence from the case can prove negligence.

Tune in to Parallel Justice wherever you like to get podcasts!

We're building a mobile app to help law enforcement officers connect victims with resources — and we need a developer to help make it happen.

Our request for proposals is now open. The app, set to debut in 2027, is designed for agencies without in-house victim services, giving officers an on-hand tool to connect people with support when they need it most.

Proposals must be submitted by 8 p.m. Eastern on June 29. Learn more and view the RFP at victimsofcrime.link/victimapp.

We are so grateful to Steve and Kristi Goncalves for sharing their story at CrimeCon.

Our CEO joined them and advocate Andy Kahan this past weekend to discuss the negative impacts of true crime on victims and their families — and ways we can all work to promote ethical storytelling and accountability in the true crime space.

Our hearts are with Steve and Kristi as they continue to mourn their daughter, Kaylee, and tell the world about her light.

Gun violence touches every corner of this country. More than 46,000 Americans die from it each year. It is the leading cause of death for children and teenagers ages 1 through 19.

Survivors may carry physical injuries and trauma for the rest of their lives, and entire communities bear the weight of mass shootings long after the news cycle moves on.

June is Gun Violence Awareness Month. As always, NCVC stands with all victims.

Victims of any crime in the U.S. can call our VictimConnect Resource Center for free, confidential help: 855-4VICTIM (855-484-2846) or victimconnect.org.
