As fans around the world come together to celebrate football, community-led organizations are showing how the game can create lasting change far beyond the pitch. ⚽🌍

In Uganda, Soccer Without Borders combines football with English courses, educational workshops, and social-emotional learning for refugee youth.

In Colombia, Fundación Tiempo de Juego's Cazuca Futbol Club gives girls and boys in a community affected by violence and exclusion a supportive environment where they can develop their talent and pursue their goals.

In Nigeria, Elite Star Foundation is creating safe spaces where teenagers can participate in sports, receive mentorship, and strengthen their teamwork, discipline, and confidence.

And in Pakistan, Karachi United Football Foundation provides free coaching, competition, and life-skills programming for 1,000 children across some of Karachi’s most underserved communities.

Together, these projects demonstrate the power of football to build belonging, opportunity, and stronger communities.

This Pride Month, we’re celebrating LGBTQ+ communities and spotlighting local leaders working to protect rights, expand access to support, and build safer, more inclusive futures.

Across the GlobalGiving community, nonprofit partners are supporting LGBTQ+ people through counseling, crisis intervention, legal aid, psychosocial support, advocacy, youth empowerment, and movement-building.

From South Korea to Tanzania, Rwanda, Armenia, and India, these five community-led projects are helping LGBTQ+ people live with safety, dignity, freedom, and pride.

Meet the projects and consider supporting their work this Pride Month.

What happens when a student has the talent, determination, and dreams to continue their education—but no school to attend?

For many young people living in Tongogara Refugee Camp in Zimbabwe, that's the reality.

The camp is home to more than 17,000 refugees, but educational opportunities generally end after 10th grade. Without access to advanced secondary education, many students face significant barriers to university and future career opportunities.

This June, Project of the Month Club members are helping change that.

Together We Can Educationally Empower Non-privileged Students (TWEENS) is a refugee-led program supported by Education Matters that provides free tutoring, mentorship, educational resources, after-school activities, and leadership development opportunities for refugee youth.

By supporting TWEENS, our Project of the Month Club members are helping more than 300 young people continue learning, build confidence, and pursue opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.

Thank you for supporting community-led solutions that create lasting impact.

A powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Mindanao this week—the strongest quake to hit the Philippines this year.

Dozens of people have been killed, more than 200 injured, and many are still missing. Hospitals are overwhelmed, thousands of families have been displaced, and local organizations are already working to reach the people and communities hit hardest.

Your donation to GlobalGiving’s Philippines Earthquake Relief Fund will help local partners provide urgent relief, including search and rescue, medical care, food, clean water, and temporary shelter. It will also support the longer work ahead to help communities recover and rebuild.

Please give today to support life-saving efforts on the ground in the Philippines.

What happens when local leaders have the trust and flexibility to test bold ideas early?

In Ukraine, Smart Osvita launched the pilot phase of PowerSchool—an initiative supporting schools affected by the war through energy resilience, educational capacity building, and psychosocial support.

With early support from GlobalGiving and our community of supporters, Smart Osvita was able to turn an idea into a tested model that is now reaching far beyond its original scope.

This is what community-led change can look like: local expertise, flexible support, and solutions built to adapt to real needs.

GlobalGiving is proud to partner with Last Week Tonight with John Oliver to support local nonprofit organizations across Ghana.

Inspired by the creativity and cultural expression celebrated through the Ghanaian art gallery Deadly Prey Gallery, the Ghana Community Impact Fund will support trusted, vetted local organizations working to expand opportunity for children, families, and communities across Ghana.

Too often, community-led organizations lack access to the flexible funding and long-term support they need to grow their work. But these organizations are often uniquely positioned to understand community needs, build trust, and create solutions designed to last.

Your donation will help power locally-led projects focused on education, clean water access, education, women’s empowerment, health, economic opportunity, and much more.

Support local leaders building more creative, connected, and resilient communities throughout Ghana.

“I am only one person and can only give so much…”

For Kenneth, giving to the TIES.charity Kenya University Scholarships Project is a way to help young women access post-secondary education—and create change that can last for generations.

Every donor has a reason for giving. This is Kenneth’s.

When communities around the world were asked to do more with less in 2025, the GlobalGiving community showed up with care, generosity, and trust.

Together, 126,066 people helped raise more than $97 million to support 11,166 projects in 169 countries.

Your generosity helped local leaders respond to 71 disasters and crises, keep essential services going in places affected by aid cuts, support families facing conflict and displacement, and continue long-term work in education, health care, environmental protection, justice, and more.

This year also marked a major milestone: $1 billion raised through GlobalGiving to support community-led change around the world.

Our 2025 Impact Report is a look back at what your generosity made possible—and a reminder of what can happen when people choose to stand with local leaders.
