RAD-AID volunteer, Sumeer Hussain, recently traveled to Ethiopia to support the commissioning of a new linear accelerator, an important milestone in expanding access to radiation therapy for patients across the country. In addition to helping bring this critical equipment into service, he provided training and technical support to local healthcare professionals to help ensure its safe and effective use.

This initiative will help increase access to radiation therapy for patients with prostate, breast, cervical, lung, brain, and other cancers, bringing life-saving treatment closer to home for many Ethiopians.

Thank you, Sumeer, for your dedication to advancing equitable access to cancer care through global collaboration and education!
