We honor Julián Curo-Churata, a husband, father and longtime Laurel resident whose life ended in ICE custody. Our hearts are with his family as they grieve and demand answers.
We condemn medical neglect and inhumane conditions in ICE detention. ICE must answer for what happened under its watch, and anyone responsible must be held accountable. Julián’s family deserves truth and justice.

THE PG COUNCIL IS TRYING TO PASS A BILL THAT WOULD CRUSH WORKING FAMILIES — RIGHT NOW.

Street vendors are working-class community members simply trying to make a living. They vend to put food on the table for their families.

TELL THE PG COUNCIL, STAND WITH STREET VENDORS. VOTE NO ON CB-003-2026.

👉 Sign the petition: https://wearecasa.org/maryland-2/pgstreetvendors/

CB-003 imposes steep fines and aggressive enforcement while requiring a permit that does not exist, criminalizing vendors without giving them a pathway to comply.

Requires an unobtainable permit
Raises fines dramatically ($250 → $1,000 → $3,000)
Counts each day as a new violation
Seizes equipment and inventory with no accountability
Destroys livelihoods in one stop.

We Are CASA rejects policies that criminalize survival and punish the most vulnerable members of our community.

🚨 The government is trying AGAIN to tear Kilmar from his family.

On Tuesday, Oct. 6, Kilmar's legal team—including We Are CASA—will fight in court to keep him home. He's been home with his family for over a year.

The government, enraged that he fought back and won, is trying to deport him to Liberia, a country he has never known.

👉 PACK THE COURTROOM. Show up for Kilmar.

📍 U.S. District Court of Maryland, 6500 Cherrywood Lane Greenbelt, MD 20770 |
🕑 Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 2:00 PM

We Are CASA will fight for Kilmar for as long as it takes. Justice looks like Kilmar being home with his family, where he belongs.

ICE DEPORTS PASTOR MOLIS AUGUSTAVE.

Police handed him off to ICE, and in just 19 days, ICE fast-tracked his deportation to Haiti. The notorious agency didn’t care that he still has pending legal proceedings.

This happens to so many people whose stories we don’t know and don’t hear. Pastor Molis is one father, husband, neighbor who ICE sought to silence – as are many others who are rushed to deportation.

We demand:

➡️ Accountability for his rushed and unfairly reviewed green card application
➡️ That his legal case continue to be heard
➡️ That Pastor Molis be returned to his family, congregation, and community

The Trump administration deported a shepherd. But they can’t deport a legacy.

There were 89 others.

Pastor Molis was supposed to be on that plane.

People organized, prayed, raised their voices. And Molis stayed.

But 89 other people were deported to Haiti, including children.

Behind those numbers are families. Parents separated from children. Children uprooted from their communities. Loved ones left wondering when or if their families will be together again.

We celebrate the people power that kept Molis here, and we refuse to look away from everyone else. Every Haitian deserves dignity. Every immigrant deserves due process. Every family deserves the freedom to stay together.

Congress is pouring billions more into detention and deportation. We demand something different: justice, dignity and family unity.

Molis almost became number 90. We cannot stop fighting with 89.

It’s to demand the freedom to keep families whole.
