SE Miller Suicide Prevention Fund Su***de awareness and prevention

Su***de;
When people take their own lives, they are not being selfish, nor are they trying to hurt anyone.
They do not dwell on how their actions will impact others—in those moments, they are often blinded by unbearable pain.
They do not wish for people to suddenly pay more attention, and they are not “taking the easy way out.”

People who die by su***de feel an overwhelming sense of hopelessness, as though there is absolutely no other choice left.
Their hearts are tired, their minds are heavy, and the disease has quietly taken hold—pulling them into a dark space where all light seems lost.

It convinces them that their absence would ease the burden on those they love, when in truth, they were deeply loved and valued beyond measure.

So, before we judge, let’s lead with compassion.
Let’s remember that behind every su***de is a story of deep pain, silent battles, and a desperate longing for peace.

Be kind—your kindness might be someone’s reason to hold on.

Some moments in life feel too heavy… like everything is happening all at once, and your mind can’t seem to slow down. The thoughts keep coming, the worries keep building, and before you know it, even the smallest things feel overwhelming.
But maybe the answer isn’t to fix everything at once.
Maybe it’s to pause.
To take a breath—not a rushed one, but a deep, gentle breath that reminds you you’re still here, still standing, still capable of moving forward. You don’t have to solve your whole life today. You don’t need all the answers right now.
Just one thought at a time.
One step at a time.
One day at a time.
There is strength in slowing down. There is peace in choosing to focus only on what’s right in front of you, instead of everything that could go wrong. When you break things down, what once felt impossible becomes something you can actually handle.
So if today feels like too much, don’t push yourself to carry it all. Let yourself breathe. Let yourself rest in the moment. Trust that progress doesn’t have to be fast to be real.
Because sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do… is simply keep going, quietly, gently, one step at a time. 🌸
