Valparaiso University Guild

Valparaiso University Guild The Valparaiso University Guild supports Valpo students and the campus community through philanthropy.

Guild grants help meet needs across student organizations and departments, while endowed funds provide scholarships and other student support. The Valparaiso University Guild began in April of 1931 as the National Women’s Committee of the Lutheran University Association. Members from across the country invested in recruiting students, raising funds to support the students’ physical and spiritual w

elfare, and serving as ambassadors for Valpo. Guild members provide significant volunteer hours to serving the needs of the Guild as well as supporting University initiatives. The Guild has provided more than $4 million to campus projects.

We are excited to introduce Vickie Noll, (Class of 1991) ✨️ as our new Guild Board President. 😃 She brings both heart and experience to this role, and we are grateful for her leadership.🤎💛
Vickie has been married to her husband, Jim, for 30 years. Together, they have raised two adult sons. While there are no grandchildren yet, their family stays busy enjoying the outdoors. They love boating, fishing, traveling, and simply spending time outside. On quieter days, Vickie enjoys walking her dog and getting lost in a good book.
And of course, no Valpo introduction is complete without a VU 🤎💛 memory: Who else remembers this? 🤔
"My sorority hallway had a water pipe break during finals. We had a flood, water literally flowing down the stairs. The pipe broke just past the shutoff, so I (as RA) had to wake the Dean to tell her and call maintenance!"😱
Please join us in welcoming Vickie as she steps into this new chapter of leadership. 🥳 We look forward to all that’s ahead under her guidance!🥰

☀️Summer approaches ... and so does the Guild ballot! 🗳
In their proposal, Troy explains how the 2022 recipient will use funds to expand the reach of their organization and make use of large-scale resources and relationships:
“[In 2021], the Chemistry Club [began] re-collaborating with local schools, the American Chemical Society, and incoming chemistry students as the pandemic is slowly pushed behind us. The refurbishment of this room would give the current Chemistry Club a greater sense of ownership in the building and a common space to help the community. Chemistry students and their friends could meet here to socialize, do homework together, and prepare and store projects with ease. Students could slowly add their own decorations and club memorabilia with each passing year as board members come-and-go. The central location and well-themed interior would help prospective students (and their tour guides) visualize their potential involvement in the department.” Great work, all!
