Future Now Finance is a hands-on experience that gives 8th-grade students at Will Rogers College Middle School the chance to practice making real-world financial decisions, from managing income and expenses to navigating credit, family responsibilities, and everyday choices.

You do not need to be a financial expert to volunteer. We’ll provide the information and guidance you need; you just bring your time, encouragement, and willingness to help students think through the decisions ahead of them.

Perla is a mother of four daughters, a dedicated professional, and someone who believes deeply in the power of people, relationships, and opportunity to change lives.

With experience spanning banking, small business lending, real estate, and community development, Perla has seen firsthand how access to resources and support can strengthen a family’s financial future and create opportunities for generations to come.

That perspective is what continues to drive her work today.

Through the Tulsa Schweitzer Fellowship, Alexa Miranda is partnering with Growing Together and Will Rogers College Middle & High School to help students build real-world financial skills while exploring careers, entrepreneurship, and their futures.

We’re grateful to Alexa, The University of Tulsa, the Tulsa Schweitzer Fellowship, and Will Rogers for investing in the next generation.

Help students make smart money choices for bright futures!

Growing Together is looking for volunteers for FutureNOW Finance, coming to Will Rogers College Middle School on November 5.

During this hands-on financial literacy experience, 8th-grade students will step into an adult scenario, complete with a career, income, credit score, family situation, and real-world expenses, and volunteers will help them make decisions about how to manage their money.

No financial expertise required! Volunteers receive the information and guidance needed for their station. Come share your time, experience, and encouragement while helping students prepare for their futures.

Where Growing Together is, Kendall-Whittier is.

Wherever conversations about Tulsa’s future are happening, the people, priorities, strengths, and hopes of Kendall-Whittier deserve to be part of them.

Our role goes beyond bringing resources into the neighborhood. We also build relationships across Tulsa, advocate for the community we serve, and help connect those relationships back to opportunities that benefit our neighbors.

Kendall-Whittier is not a back-seat passenger of Tulsa’s future but is an active participant in shaping it.

Please give a warm welcome to Kasey Rhone, our brand-new Executive Director!

Kasey officially joined us on August 3rd, and she's already out and about meeting our incredible local business owners. She comes to us with a background in nonprofits, project management, and education, most recently as Education Director at the Museum of Tulsa History. She knows how to bring people together and tell the stories that make a community special.

And let's be real, our businesses ARE the heart of Kendall Whittier. From our beloved local shops and restaurants to the entrepreneurs making their dreams come true right here in the district, we're here to support you every step of the way.

Kasey is excited to work alongside all of you as we gear up for some huge things – think revamped infrastructure, new public art, wayfinding signs, and even more reasons to shop local.

We loved welcoming students from New York University to Growing Together!

Their visit was an opportunity to share more about our work alongside Kendall-Whittier residents, families, schools, and partners and to explore what becomes possible when learning, research, and community come together.

Thank you, NYU, for spending time with us and investing in the work happening right here in Kendall-Whittier. We’re excited about the work we will do and the impact we can create together.

A huge thank you to Blue Neighbors for investing their time and energy into Kendall-Whittier Elementary by moving furniture, refreshing the garden, and painting hallway signs.

We also want to express our greatest gratitude to Kendall Whittier Church for creating a joyful time of family fun at Kendall-Whittier Park filled with games, food, music, cotton candy, and connection.

Together, we grow.

At Growing Together, we believe a thriving Kendall-Whittier means families can remain rooted and grow, residents have a voice in what comes next, and the culture and relationships that make this community special are protected along the way.

Growth must happen with the community, shaped by the community, and designed to benefit the whole community.
