FB friends - if you are so moved, please help Kendall Whittier, Inc. provide a little extra in our winter break snack bags for the kiddos at Sequoyah Elementary. Two things: quantities are specific since there are 370 students AND the items must be here by Monday, December 11. Any help would be appreciated to make their nutritious and tasty snack bags even more special for the winter break!

We’re in growth mode! 🌱 Please join us in welcoming our new Interim Executive Director:

Kendall Whittier Inc. (KWI) is proud to announce the appointment of Machele Miller Dill as its interim Executive Director, effective November 1. This transition comes as Lori Decter Wright, who has served as KWI's Executive Director since January 2015, departs the company after nearly nine years of dedicated service.

Machele Miller Dill expressed her excitement about taking on this new role, saying, “Lori Decter Wright leaves some incredible pumps to fill. This is a dream role since KWI’s board, along with the staff, is tremendously engaged and committed to our mission of providing Tulsans with food security, nutritional health, and well-being. We feed our neighbors – both physically with our food pantry, and emotionally with the beauty of our gardens. Honestly, digging in the dirt kept me sane during the pandemic lock-down. I look forward to carrying on the exceptional programs offered by KWI in service to our neighbors and doing even more to feed Tulsans.”

In the last fiscal year, Kendall Whittier Inc. delivered a week’s worth of free emergency groceries to over 1,200 Tulsans residing in the Kendall Whittier, Pearl, and Crutchfield Neighborhoods. The vast majority of recipients live in poverty, with more than one-third being children and one-fifth being senior citizens. The annual holiday gift bags packed with nutritious snacks and food items went home with 1,150 elementary school students. And, KWI's two community gardens engaged 705 children and 225 adults, thanks to the dedication of 225 volunteers.
