Join us on August 22 at ZBASE for the Multisport Merit Badge Triathlon, a beginner-friendly challenge designed to help Scouts complete the event portion of the new Multisport Merit Badge or simply experience the excitement of a triathlon for the first time.

The distances for this event are: Triathlon: swim (100 m), bike (3 km), and run (1 km)

Event Details:
โ€ข Registration: 8:00โ€“9:30 AM
โ€ข Race Start: 10:00 AM
โ€ข Cost: $15 per racer

Remember that you may participate in the race even if you are not working on your Multisport Merit Badge. If you are interested in the sport and want to understand how the transitions work, etc., this is a fantastic race to complete. The distances are very reasonable as the point of the requirement is understanding how the event will work.

Open to Scouts who meet participation requirements and anyone interested in learning how a triathlon works in a supportive environment. Bring your determination and get ready to cross the finish line!

Our Cub Scouts and their families had a blast at Cub Family Adventure Camp this past weekend! From digging into the fascinating world of fossils and gemstones to operating RC earth-moving equipment, building rock cairns, testing their skills at the range, and even mixing their own concrete, there was excitement around every corner.

The smiles, laughter, and sense of discovery made this camp truly unforgettable. It was incredible to see Scouts learning new skills, tackling challenges, and creating memories with their families while exploring how earth science and outdoor adventure go hand in hand.

Thank you to all of our volunteers, staff, and families who helped make this weekend such a success. We can't wait to see everyone back at camp for more adventures!

This hands-on training combines classroom instruction with practical experience on council climbing structures, teaching the fundamentals of safe climbing, belaying, and COPE operations. Join us September 5 at ZBASE for the Rising StarZ Sporting Clay Challenge! Open to Scouts BSA and Venturers ages 13+, this action-packed day event gives teams the chance to compete on the Jack Graves Sporting Clay Complex while sharpening their shooting sports skills.

Participants will warm up on the 5-Stand and Wobble Trap ranges before taking on a 60-shot sporting clays challenge across 15 stations. Ammunition, targets, and shotguns are all provided, making it easy to focus on the competition and fun.

As we start having our Summertime activities with our units; one popular idea is to practice recycling and hold a Water Bottle Rocket Launch. Here is a safety moment to keep in mind:

So you want to launch a water bottle rocket. These pressurized rockets use pressurized air and water and can fly at 100 mph. Unfortunately, used improperly or carelessly, they have been known to burst, strike spectators, or launch into the face of a participant. And yes, this has really happened. The rockets have also sometimes damaged property by landing hundreds of feet away. Adequate and knowledgeable adult supervision is critical to a safe, successful launch.
