Our annual Cherrydale Fall Fundraiser is starting soon and online registration is OPEN NOW! Official kickoff materials will be coming home with your students shortly, but you can help us build early momentum today.

🚌Volunteer Opportunities🍎

🥪As we are all getting back into the swing of a new school year, we have some volunteer opportunities available. First, is our duty-free lunch period. The PTA provides duty-free lunch to teachers once per month (usually the second Wednesday). This allows teachers to eat in another space besides the cafeteria and unwind during lunch time instead of staying in the cafeteria to manage behaviors and open containers while also trying to eat. This is a FREE gift that you can give teachers that is much appreciated. Our first duty-free lunch period will be on September 9, 2026. 🦷Our other volunteer opportunity will help Nurse Bobbie and Nurse Meagan in the clinic. Each year, the Dental Clinic visits our school to provide dental services to some of our students. This will be on September 16, 2026 from 8:15-12:30pm. They need volunteers to es**rt students to and from the clinic/cafeteria. Shenandoah Valley Kiwanis Club in Staunton has partnered with the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank to sponsor a Coolest Pet in the Shenandoah Valley 2026 Contest to raise money for the Food Bank's School Break Box Program. Food insecurity among school-aged children is a significant problem and greatly impacts their ability to learn and grow. This program provides nutritious, non-perishable and easy-to-prepare food for the children and their families during school holiday breaks when school meals are unavailable.

Riverheads students, Mrs. Shalawylo (kindergarten teacher at RES) and Samantha (our PTA treasurer) went to thank the Augusta County Board of Supervisors last night at their meeting. We could not have completed phase one of the playground without their monetary support!
