Serving as a community college trustee is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference right where you live. 💙

Trustees help shape the future of their local community college by setting the college’s mission, approving the budget, hiring and evaluating the president, advocating for students and communities, and helping ensure the college’s priorities reflect the needs of the people it serves.

And you don’t have to be an education expert to serve. If you’re 18 or older, a U.S. citizen, have lived in your community college district for at least one year, and believe in the community college mission, you may be eligible to seek a seat on your local board.

Interested in learning more? Attend a board meeting, talk with current trustees, and find out how you can help shape the future of your community college.
