This event was held to celebrate the launch of Local Journalism Matters, which is the new nonprofit organization for Illinois Times and Springfield Business Journal Illinois. This new endeavor, with the support of the community, will create the daily news source our community deserves. Please congratulate them and Fletcher Farrar for his 48 years of dedicated service to community journalism. The new Local Journalism Matters CEO, Kate McKenzie, was also in attendance to share their vision for the future of news in our region.
