If you have ever heard of Tunnel to Towers Foundation, they are launching Steel Across America. A beam from the Twin Towers will be at the Space Center Houston THIS SUNDAY AT 9AM. Not clear when they will leave to be in Austin June 2nd.

This year marks 25 years since the attacks of September 11, 2001, a day that changed our nation forever.

To honor the heroes we lost, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is launching Steel Across America—a national journey carrying a steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center.

Beginning at Ground Zero, this sacred piece of history will travel thousands of miles, visiting more than 35 cities across 21 states. Along the way, communities will come together to honor 25 years of memory, service, and sacrifice.

Steel Across America is more than a tour. It is a living tribute to resilience, remembrance, and the strength of the American Spirit.

Follow the journey and find a stop near you:

Apologies for the late post, but we felt due to the unfortunate passing of Capt Reed yesterday we wanted to honor his legacy and make it all about him and his family. We wanted to thank all who came out for our quarterly meeting. Special shoutout to The Woodlands Fire Department Engine and Truck 105 for attending. Enjoyed the discussions with you all. If you’re not familiar with the First 5k on FFRS we will post a link so you are able to look over it with your crew. Keep spreading the word. FTM-PTB Firefighter Rescue Survey

Today we mourn the passing of Houston Fire Department Captain Clifford Reed.

Captain Reed was more than a firefighter, he was a Houston Fire Department legend. His name carries weight because of the way he served, the way he led, and the example he set for future generations of firefighters.

He represented the heart of aggressive interior fire attack: courage, discipline, confidence and commitment to improving his craft. His influence reached beyond the fireground through his development of the "Reed Hood", a tool born from real fireground experience and a deep understanding of what firefighters need when operating in dangerous conditions.

Captain Reed helped shape the culture of the Houston Fire Department through his knowledge, his leadership, his innovation, and his dedication.

Men like Captain Reed leave an impact that does not fade.

Rest easy, Captain Reed. Your legacy will continue to ride with the Houston Fire Department. Our prayers are with your family, friends and all who had the honor of knowing and working beside you.

ATTN: QUARTERLY BUSINESS MEETING TO FOLLOW
Unfortunately, Chief Rinewalt had something come up and had to re-schedule our upcoming training. We were able to phone a friend and without hesitation he stepped in. Stoked to hear Mario speak and teach about something he is so passionate about. Location is still to be determined but we are looking to hold it in the Magnolia area. Once we have a venue set, we will let everyone know. Stick around after the training for our quarterly meeting. As always, don’t have to be a member to attend. Chief bring your officers. Officers bring your firemen!! FTM-PTB
