This week, we are Wearing Pink, Spending Green, and Buying Black by intentional spending with Black-owned restaurants, cafes, bakeries, food trucks, and beverage brands.

🌸Celebrating a Historic Victory — Congratulations Sister Darlene Breaux!

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® — Omicron Tau Omega Chapter proudly celebrates our very own Sister, Alief ISD Board President Darlene Breaux, on her decisive victory in the Democratic runoff for Texas House District 149.

Her win was featured in KPRC2 / Click2Houston, highlighting her journey from educator and policy leader to state representative-elect, and underscoring the community’s call for “something different” in Austin.

Mental health matters every day, and on May 15th we took action. 💚

For Mental Health Action Day, the women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®- Omicron Tau Omega Chapter 🩷💚 and the brothers of the North Houston Ques- Mu Mu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. 💜💛 were committed to turning awareness into action.

In this reel, our members share the intentional ways they prioritized mental wellness, supported others, and created space for healing, balance, and connection.

Whether it’s checking in on a friend, taking a break to recharge, seeking support, practicing self-care, or simply choosing kindness, every action matters.

On Saturday, May 9th, our YLI Youth Leaders, their guests, the Empower Our Families Committee, and Chapter Leadership of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®-Omicron Tau Omega Chapter 🩷💚, proudly partnered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace
for a meaningful community service project dedicated to helping ensure every child has a safe and comfortable place to sleep.

Everyone rolled up their sleeves and got to work building 50 beds for Houston area youth in need. Together, we served with purpose, compassion, and unity -making a difference one bed at a time!
