What an incredible time of sisterhood, service, and celebration with the amazing sisters of our Omicron Tau Omega-Spring, Texas Chapter.

From powerful connections to unforgettable moments, this convention was a beautiful reminder of the impact we make when we all come together with purpose and passion. We left inspired, recharged, and ready to continue serving our communities with excellence under our new international leadership administration!

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® – Omicron Tau Omega Chapter hosted its 2026 Entrepreneurs University in Spring, Texas, hosted by the Build Our Economic Wealth Committee.

The event was dedicated to equipping 66 aspiring and established entrepreneurs with powerful strategies to elevate and sustain their businesses.

Expert speakers Toni Harris-Taylor of Drastic Results Coaching and Cassandra Y. Moore of Moore Financial Solutions Inc. delivered dynamic insights on branding, funding, and strategic networking.

President Yoshida J. Kirkwood delivered an inspiring welcome and Emcee Felicia Waldon kept the momentum going throughout the day. Vice President Nikki Bailey encouraged the entrepreneurs to apply the many lessons learned.

At the conclusion, select entrepreneurs were gifted with an individual headshot by a professional photographer.

Celebrating Men's Mental Health Month!

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Omicron Tau Omega Chapter in partnership with the North Houston Ques, recognizes Men's Mental Health Month and the importance of creating space for honest conversations about mental wellness.

Men are often called upon to lead, provide, protect, and serve. While these responsibilities are important, they can also carry tremendous pressure. Too often, men are expected to manage stress, grief, anxiety, disappointment, and life's challenges without support.

This month serves as a reminder that seeking support is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign of self awareness, courage, and strength. Taking time to rest, connecting with trusted friends and mentors, engaging in healthy activities, and seeking professional support when needed are all important aspects of wellness.

When men prioritize their mental health, families are strengthened, relationships improve, and communities thrive.

As we recognize Men's Mental Health Month, let us continue to reduce stigma, encourage meaningful conversations, and remind the men and boys in our lives that they do not have to carry life's burdens alone.
Your mental health matters. Your wellbeing matters. You matter.

🌸Celebrating a Historic Victory — Congratulations Sister Darlene Breaux!

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® — Omicron Tau Omega Chapter proudly celebrates our very own Sister, Alief ISD Board President Darlene Breaux, on her decisive victory in the Democratic runoff for Texas House District 149.

Her win was featured in KPRC2 / Click2Houston, highlighting her journey from educator and policy leader to state representative-elect, and underscoring the community’s call for “something different” in Austin.

Mental health matters every day, and on May 15th we took action. 💚

For Mental Health Action Day, the women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®- Omicron Tau Omega Chapter 🩷💚 and the brothers of the North Houston Ques- Mu Mu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. 💜💛 were committed to turning awareness into action.
