Why should you sign-up?

It is important for seniors to sign up for ALERT Spokane because it provides real-time emergency notifications, links warnings to specific home addresses, and delivers life-saving evacuation notices directly to cell phones or landlines. Visit SCEM.org to learn more!

Our July San Juan Islands Adventure was one to remember! 🌊🛳️🐋

Hillyard Senior Center travelers enjoyed four unforgettable days exploring some of Washington's most beautiful scenery.

Our adventure included:
🛳️ Ferry rides between Anacortes and Friday Harbor
🐋 A private whale watching charter where we witnessed the breathtaking breach of two different whale species and even spotted a majestic American Bald Eagle soaring overhead.
🦀 A delicious crab dinner at the Crab House in Friday Harbor.
🌅 A relaxing evening strolling the beautiful Friday Harbor waterfront as the sun began to set.
🦙 A visit to a charming alpaca farm.
🏨 Three comfortable nights in Burlington, Washington, which made the perfect home base for our adventure.

Traveling with a group of 29 seniors is no small task, but thanks to wonderful travelers, dedicated volunteers, and great planning, everything came together beautifully!! Trips like this remind us that every LONG mile traveled is worth the memories made.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this journey such a success. We're happy to be home after a fun adventure, but we're already looking forward to planning the next one! Stay tuned!!

Wishing all members and seniors in the community with a July birthday a special Happy Birthday! 💜

Thank you to our wonderful members, first time guests, and friends who joined us for our annual Strawberry Social. We also want to give a big thank you to our amazing volunteers for making the magic happen in the kitchen. Our July Strawberry Social was a success!

We also want to give a special thank you to the Mixed Nuts Band for bringing those classic 50s tunes we all love and for continuing to help us celebrate our birthday members each month!

It was so great to see dancers joining us and enjoying their time together and as we always like to say, HSC is where friends meet friends… and where memories are made!

Be sure to join us for our big America 250 Live Lounge Celebration on Wednesday, July 22nd, featuring two live bands: Jerry-Rigged with a special guest and the Mixed Nuts Band! Entertainment begins at 1:00 PM, so come early, grab a seat, and enjoy an afternoon of great music and community fun!
