A series of community events are hosted by the Northeast Community Center THEZONE to support our community impacted by the recent fires:

Fri, Aug. 28 | 10am–3pm — Wildfire Relief Distribution, with Coordinated Care, Northeast Community Center & Second Harvest Inland Northwest: free dental & vision screenings, plus food, hygiene items, diapers, clothing, and school supplies

Sat, Aug. 29 | 9am–1pm — Comfort Pop-Up Toy Shop, hosted by Community of Candles: free toys for kids impacted by the fires

Mon, Aug. 31 | 4–6pm — Renters Legal Aid, with KCBA Housing Justice Project: know your rights on damage, cleanup, and lease issues

📍 4001 N Cook St, Spokane, WA 99207 — all events open to the public, no appointment needed.

Come by, bring a friend, and share with anyone who needs it.

Free dental and vision screenings from Coordinated Care's statewide healthcare tour, plus food, hygiene items, clothing, and school supplies through a Wildfire Relief Distribution — this Friday, Aug. 28, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. at Northeast Community Center. Everyone is welcome, no appointment needed. Please share with anyone who might need it!

More than 400 ZONE neighbors joined us for an afternoon of school supplies, literacy activities, books, haircuts, food, music, and fun — seeing families connect and kids getting excited about school and reading was amazing!
There was something for everyone. Thank you to ALL of our partners and neighbors who supported ZONE students starting a fresh school year.

Fresh cut, fresh start! ✂️
At this year's Back to School Fair, kids can get a FREE haircut — first come, first served!
Haircuts are simple trims to start the year fresh, no fades or fancy styles. There'll be a sign-in sheet when you arrive to hold your spot in line, so come early!
Please note: children must be present to receive a haircut and school supplies.

We've pulled together every resource we could find so far — shelter, food, pet care, financial help, mental health support, and more — into one guide for anyone impacted, anywhere in the Spokane area. Need a backpack for the new school year? 🎒 SNAP with NECC/ZONE Sponsorship is hosting a Back-to-School Resource Carnival this Friday, July 31, with free backpacks and school supplies, plus plenty of fun activities for families!

ZONE families and students, this is a great opportunity to get connected with back-to-school resources and enjoy a fun afternoon together. Communities are shaped by the people who pour into them, and Drey did exactly that.
On Drey Day, we're celebrating the lasting impact he had on so many. As a Northeast District 1 resident, his music, generosity, and heart left a legacy that continues to bring people together. We're grateful to see his story honored through this beautiful mural.
