This year's World Mental Health Day theme, "Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change," reminds us that the people most affected by mental health and substance use challenges should help shape the systems, services and support designed to serve them. Through , we believe lasting change happens when communities listen, collaborate and invest in solutions that support people where they live, work, learn and belong.

This summer, young philanthropists across our community turned lemonade stands into meaningful acts of kindness, raising nearly $4,000 for the Spartanburg Regional Foundation’s Pediatric Rehabilitation Fund.

Through creativity, generosity and a whole lot of heart, these young fundraisers showed us that philanthropy has no age limit, and even the smallest acts can make a lasting difference.

Thank you to every child, family donor and supporter who helped make this campaign so special.

This summer, young philanthropists throughout our community poured lemonade, shared smiles and helped make hope possible through the Spartanburg Regional Foundation's "Little Sta

A huge thank you to the Freewheelers of Spartanburg, an upstate cycling club, for hosting this year's Miles for Mammograms bike ride on Sept. 19 at the Tryon International Equestrian Center for the Mammography Assistance Fund.

Ahead of the ride, cyclists wrote names of people they would honor or remember on the scenic trails. A number of breast cancer survivors participated, and a survivor spoke about the importance of regular screenings for early detection. We're grateful for groups like the Freewheelers who channel a shared passion into positive community impact and joined the community movement, Strength in Pink, to support local breast cancer patients and their families.

🦋What Would Dolly Do? 🦋

As we celebrate Dolly Day today, we're reminded that Dolly Parton's legacy extends far beyond music. Her generosity has touched communities across the country, including Union County, where her mother lived, and where Dolly made a gift to support Union Medical Center.

Dolly showed us the power of investing in our local communities. Let's celebrate Dolly's legacy by sharing kindness, supporting others and giving where we can.

What an incredible evening for our Physician Giving Society!

Physicians and guests gathered at The Carolina on Southport for an evening of fellowship, philanthropy, and meaningful conversation. A special thank you to Dr. Amy Curtis and Dr. Wayne Davis Jr., who shared their personal reasons for supporting the Spartanburg Regional Foundation, the impact they have witnessed through philanthropy, and how Foundation-funded initiatives are improving the lives of patients and families throughout our community. Their inspiring remarks were truly encouraging.

One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was recognizing the impact of our founding members by presenting NICU leadership with a $30,000 grant for the NICU Renovation & Milk Bank Initiative, the inaugural project selected and funded by the Physician Giving Society. This investment reflects the power of physician philanthropy and its lasting impact on our youngest and most vulnerable patients.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event such a success. Together, we are building a growing community of physician leaders dedicated to making a difference for the patients and families we serve.

If you're interested in joining or learning more about this remarkable group and its impact, please reach out to Gina De La Cruz Turcotte, Director of Philanthropy at [email protected].
