Exciting News: Restoration Village is fully funded! 🎉

In 2018, JUMPSTART SC was stretched across nearly 15 aging homes with leaking roofs, endless repairs, and vans that rarely left the shop. Still, God placed a bold vision on our hearts: one central village where men and women rebuilding their lives after incarceration could find a safe home and a loving community. We launched the campaign in March 2020, just as COVID-19 shut the world down. We had no land and little money. Then a search through county probate records led us to a landowner who said yes, and his yes opened the door.

Today, all 22 homes are fully funded! For a little over five years, faithful friends prayed, gave, volunteered, and believed when the numbers said this couldn’t happen. Every home stands because they said yes too. To God be the glory, and to every friend who stood with us, thank you! 🙏

Next is Alumni Housing! Two Alumni Houses in the Upstate have already been purchased.

This past Saturday, volunteers from every corner of South Carolina gathered at Restoration Village for our Volunteer Appreciation Event to celebrate what God is doing through JUMPSTART SC.

We heard exciting updates on how the Lord is moving, shared a delicious meal, heard testimonies, provided tours of Restoration Village, and enjoyed sweet fellowship. Every moment reminded us this work belongs to the Lord, and He is faithful.

To every volunteer who serves inside prison walls or mentors on the outside, and to all who pray and serve: you are the hands and feet of Jesus to people who need hope most. Thank you for saying yes! 🙏

Money sitting in a bank account cannot change a life. Individuals like Brock, who are willing to use what they have for others, can. Generosity is not just about giving money away. It is about recognizing what God entrusts to us, and carrying that responsibility well. Resources can build comfort, or they can restore lives, strengthen families, and advance what carries eternal value. At JUMPSTART SC, we have seen generosity provide the way for men and women to rebuild their lives after incarceration.

We are only 2 homes away from completing Restoration Village! Beyond that, we are dreaming bigger: Alumni Houses across South Carolina, giving graduates a place to keep growing long after they leave the Village.

Two SCDC Directors, One Testimony

Joel Anderson and Jon Ozmint have both led the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Joel serves as director today and Jon held the role before him. Together they have seen the same cycle of incarceration, and together they have seen what breaks it. Men were not simply converted. They were made into disciples, willing to sacrifice for the people around them.

Both agree that JUMPSTART SC is more effective at ending that cycle than any program the department has ever had.Additionally they believe that no chaplain and no staff member can reach a man the way another man who has lived that life and overcome it can.

Only the Spirit of God can do that.

Sharne's story moves through two childhood churches, years of abuse and addiction, and prison sentences that could have written the ending. But God had a different plan. Slowly, painfully, she surrendered. She learned the difference between legalism and relationship, between fixing herself and being healed.

Today, Sharne is a graduate from our transitional program, walking out the next chapter of her life and leading others. She calls her life a drink offering now, poured out for someone else's sake.
