S2S is happy to be featured by Wofford's news! We are happy with our success thus far and are optimistic about the future!

“I was in a program like S2S, but I didn’t have anyone (except my guidance counselor) helping me transition into college," Austin Seilkop says. "I am excited for the future of Student 2 Student, and I hope that this model can expand beyond Wofford College.”

"Finished up my senior fall semester yesterday, and for someone who thought that going to a school like Wofford would never be possible, it's surreal that I'm about to become a first-generation debt-free college graduate.
This semester, the community organization that I founded at Boiling Springs High School helped to get several seniors into college already, juniors registered for their standardized testing, and even sophomores to become more involved in school. I got elected to Phi Beta Kappa - the oldest and most widely recognized academic honor society. And, when thinking about the impact that I want to have as a future public servant, I've decided to start by accepting a job at Deloitte Federal Consulting in Washington, D.C. after graduation.
I used to stress and worry about the future, but I've realized that God hasn't let me down in 21 years, and he isn't going to start now." says Student 2 Student's founder and BSHS alumni, Donovan Hicks, who graduates next Spring from Wofford. He has done amazing and admirable things both here at Wofford and at Boiling Springs High School. Hopefully, other students can follow in his footsteps thanks to S2S. Way to go Donovan!

According to http://nces.ed.gov/fastfacts/display.asp?id=372...

"In fall 2015, some 20.2 million students are expected to attend American colleges and universities, constituting an increase of about 4.9 million since fall 2000.

Females are expected to account for the majority of college students: about 11.5 million females will attend in fall 2015, compared with 8.7 million males. Also, more students are expected to attend full time than part time (an estimated 12.6 million, compared with about 7.6 million)."

See the difference 15 years can make? With programs like Student 2 Student, hopefully, these numbers can go even higher.
